Five weeks ago I added T3 (4 mcg) to the T4 (.75 mcg), I had been taking for the past 7 years.
Seemed to always still have hypo symptoms prior - fatigue, cold hands/feet and circulation issues, brain fog, hair fall, dry skin, being the main ones. Weight gain not an issue as I have gone gluten and sugar free and dairy reduced. I will be seeing my endocrinologist this week.
Following are my current numbers, not seeing huge changes yet, when should I expect my body to adjust and would you suggest anything else in the meantime based on my results? I have just gotten my vitamin D in range recently and my iron is increasing slowly with supplements.
Thank You!!
Vitamin B12 - 437 (138-652)
Ferritin - 61 (5-272)
TSH - 0.57 (.32-4)
FT4 - 17 (9-19)
FT3 - 4.4 (2.6-5.8)
Thyroglobulin Antibody - 74 (<40)
Thyroperoxidase Antibody - 23 (<35)
Vitamin D - 141 (75-250)

This brings to mind a line in a theatrical film about the famous Depression-era racehorse, Seabiscuit, after he broke his leg and it had mended. The jockey also had broken his leg in a separate event and both were preparing to race again. The trainer asked the rider, "will the leg hold?" and the jockey, who weighed barely nine stones, thinking only of the strength of Seabiscuit's leg, said, "This horse weighs twelve hundred pounds; I'm an afterthought."
The 5 mcg of T3 seems like an afterthought, and your FT3 result seems to support this impression.
I see what you’re saying here. But with the FT3 rising could I just use another small increase in dose and my numbers be optimal then. And hopefully feeling better as well?
