Ndt blood tests results.

So I just got some blood results back.

I’m on 2 grains erfa thyroid. Don’t understand what these results mean. Any insight?

Free t3 7.3 (2.5 - 6.5)

Free t4 12.6 (8 - 21)

Tsh 8.85 (0.4 - 4.5)

How long was the gap between your last dose of NDT and the blood draw?

Unfortunately, I too a dose about an hour before test so I k ow the t3 will be high. I’m concerned about the tsh though. That is way too high. I’ve been taking ndt for about 4 months now. I take 1 grain in morning and 1 late afternoon.

If you took 1 grain NDT one hour before the test, the FT4 will also be higher than normal. And it's not very high in that test. So, that could be why your TSH is high. I'm afraid this test is meaningless. You have no idea of your normal circulating T4 or T3.

Do you always take your NDT on an empty stomach, waiting at least one hour before eating, etc. just like levo?

Yeah. I take it on an empty stomach. Although I will often have a cup of tea about half hour later. I think I’ll give it a good hour before I eat or drink anything and see how I get on in 6 weeks.

Are you taking thyroid? Your TSH is very high! How do you feel? Symptoms?

I was feeling quite good a week or so ago. I’m back to feeling tired again now. To be honest, I had forgot to take my pills a couple of times so maybe that has screwed the results
