nature throid ineffective

Hi all-Curious if anyone else has had problems with nature throid (1 grain) this past year. I did seem to do better on armour but they are supposed to be the same. Could just be me but my tsh went up, t3 went down after being stable for several months. Tried Tirosint 112 mcg recently and gained 5 pounds in 3 weeks ! Frustrating

Many people have had problems with the "new" NatureThroid. You might want to read through some posts that come up with a search

Yes lots of us have had problems unfortunately. I had to increase my dose and even then started feeling quite ill and shaky. If you are on Facebook, the manufacturers (RLC Labs) have their own page, which has hundreds of comments from people taking both Nature-Throid and the newly released WP. It's called simply 'nature-throid and wp thyroid' and worth a read!

Yes , I had a terrible year with Nature Throid last year, all thyroid symptoms returned , I have gone back to thyroxine and T3 , I'm having a blood test this week .

wow that should not happen to any of us. Just spoke with my pharmacist face to face about all this as my nature-throid was "off" also. TSH jumped from 2.0 to 2.65. free T3 dropped a lot also down to the bottom of the range from three quarters up (roughly). He told me reluctantly he's had many complaints and people are just adjusting their dose..So since I had a refill on armour that's what I'm doing. On top of all this, saw a new Endo doc today to try to straighten this all out and she said I'm in the "normal" range. Tried to give me Synthroid..Oh and she said the free T3 doesn't mean anything. Doesn't even test for it. Just T4 GRRRRRR.. Glad I have this message board !!

Everything is so frustrating...I agree and thank God for this group...

Happened to me, it was terrible, my ft4 went down, tsh went up a bit, had to up the dose, but still didn't feel right. My Scottish Endo has confirmed that there are so so many issues with the new reformulated NT...also switched to Levo only, 150 from 2.75 grains and I'm now 7 kilos heavier and with a tonne of likps bumps cellulit and stiff limbs :) beautiful

Okay so just saw a new doc today, not an endo as I have little faith in most of them. Every since I was OVER medicated on armour It's been a long long road back to some sort of normal. On 50mcg of Tirosint now which is the cleanest of all and they offer coupons ! New doc added t3 only to my levo, 5mg to start. My crazy thyroid now shows a tsh of 1.59 with a low but still "normal" free t3 but I have hypo symtoms and this new doc thinks it's better to add t3 then to increase the t4 as MOST of us do NOT convert all that well t4 to t3..

Oops I haven't realised how old your post was :) was also overdosed on NDT, took months to recover and I became very sensitive to meds. Yeah adding t3 does make sense, unless you convert okay.

Doesn't matter if the post was awhile ago. I'm interested in your experience with being overmedicated as I was on NDT. It's been a few months now and I'm STILL sensitive to medication ! Can't figure out why, or what actually happened (-:

in reply toabartme

Yeah, it stayed with me, it's been two years after and I'm still sensitive. All you need to do is go slow. Interesting fact tho, I'm not the same sensitive to t4 only. I need to take it easy on t3, I do have a few days of unpleasant overdose symptoms sometimes, they should fade away though as the time goes.

That's interesting. I plan to take it slow for sure. Being overmedicated was the scariest experience I've ever had !
