Have been on 75 mcg of Levothyroxine and 10mcg of cytomel for many years for Hashis. still having symptoms despite normal labs. Hair falling out, fatigue etc. Today started 65 mg of nature throid and feel nauseated. Had to stay home. any correlation?

I have been on 125mcg of thyroxine for many years and had no problems, but 9 days ago I started with the Teva new formulation 25mcg and have had nausea every day and chronic sickness both last Monday and this Monday. On the recommendation of my pharmacist I stopped the new formula, and guess what? Nausea disappeared and now feel normal. Any comments gratefully received

LindaB25,

It would be better to write your own post as you are not replying to PaulaLHaak's question.

A change of Levothyroxine can be upsetting so it's best to stick with one make which you know works for you than to switch to alternative makes.

PaulaLHaak,

I don't think you'll be able tell whether NatureThroid is making you nauseous after 1 tablet versus a bug making you feel nauseous. Go back to 75mcg Levothyroxine and 10mcg Cytomel tomorrow and retry NatureThroid in a week.

Hi, my Endo has just trialled me on Nature Thyroid and it would appear that you have jumped from 10mcg of cytomel to 18mcg of T3 in one jump so while your T4 is approx the same with the Nature Thyroid, perhaps you need to take a little less initially until your body gets used to the increased T3.

Hope you find this helps, I've switched from a T4/t3 combo and so far feel much better

It is hard to tell, as others mentioned, as I have IBS, fibromyalgia and autoimmune hepatitis as well as Hashimotos. I often randomly it seems get sick in various ways so will just have to see after awhile how my body adjusts to change. Thank you all.
