I’m on 75mcg of levo but feel dreadful still. Super exhausted in the morning, ringing in my ears, palpitations, hair falling out easily when washing it...

I was gluten free but didn’t feel any better so reverted back to my old diet.

This is the highest my TSH has been since I’ve been tested. Even at my GP’s blood test on 22nd September my TSH was around 3.

I take selenium, magnesium, Vit d3 & K2, zinc, ashwangandha, probiotic.....

The tiredness is just the worst. 😕

Anyway, will show these to the endo, wish me luck x

Why are you taking iodine (Ashwaganda ) ? Have you been tested for Iodine? Are you deficient?

Do you have Hashimoto's? I understand from Thyroid UK that we're not supposed to supplement with Iodine.

What was your Vitamin D blood test result and how much do you supplement with each day.

I take ashwangandha as I read it was good for Hashimoto’s patients. Vit D was 76.4 (50.00 - 200.00)

My Vit d supplement is 3000iu

I would ask GP for an urgent referal to an Endocrinologist - you have symptoms.

Take a look on Thyroid UK website at the list of what we're not supposed to take.

Have you had B12 tested? Or Folate and Ferritin?

Have you ever had an Ultrasound scan of your Thyroid?

Also, Ashwagandha can lower cortisol so you may want to consider doing a 24 hour saliva adrenal test to check cortisol and DHEA.

Ashwagandha has no iodine in it.

Did you get FT4 and FT3 tested as well?

Official NHS guidelines saying TSH should be between 0.2 and 2.0 when on Levothyroxine

(Many of us need TSH nearer 0.2 than 2.0 to feel well)

See box

Thyroxine replacement in primary hypothyroidism

pathology.leedsth.nhs.uk/pa...

You need 25mcg dose increase in Levothyroxine and retested in 6-8 weeks later

Essential to test folate , B12 and ferritin too

Vitamin D still slightly low.

Aiming to improve to around 100nmol. Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is good as avoids poor gut function. Suggest you supplement 1000iu for 2-3 months and retest. It's trial and error what dose each person needs. Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there. Retesting twice yearly via vitamindtest.org.uk

Ringing in ears - tinnitus is very often linked to low B12

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or vitamins

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. When on Levothyroxine, take last dose 24 hours prior to test, and take next dose straight after test. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

Did you mean to post your latest blood test results ?

Yes d’oh! Will now amend x

Your TSH is too high so you need increase in Levothyroxine as already mentioned.

Your CRP slightly raised so some infection somewhere ??

Yeah I think it’s my Hashi’s flaring 😭

Going back on Gluten may have increased antibodies and frequency of flares

Did you have a full test when strictly gluten free, that you might compare antibodies results

Sometimes people find antibodies dropping is only noticeable difference gluten free

Your vitamins are ok. Vitamin D still slightly too low

Unfortunately I didn’t, SlowDragon. I really should have. I think I will go gf again and then test to check for sure.

My endo was absolutely fascinated to see antibodies steadily dropping at each test after I went gluten free. (Testing privately obviously)

This was 25 years after initially diagnosed as having Hashimoto's. In all those years antibodies had remained high.

NHS rarely test antibodies more than once, so they never see this result

GP fascinated too, she now recommends all her Hashimoto's patients try strictly gluten free diet
