Haven't been on for a little while so it was a nice surprise to see the new calculator! I'm not really sure what the percentages mean though so if someone could explain I'd really appreciate it.
The above are my most recent GP blood results. I was really hoping my tsh would come back high because every time I've had private bloods done it's over 5 but when I have it tested via the GP it's always in range 🤦🏻♀️ so of course they think all is fine, apart from the high tpo antibodies which they aren't even slightly concerned about.
When I had my bloods done a few months ago my vitamin D amongst a few others were low so I've been supplementing however my Vit D is still low which is really bizarre seeing as I've been taking 3000iu every single day for the last 4 months, and the GP said himself that's too high a dose. Any ideas on why that could be?
Now I feel like they'll put all my symptoms that I still have (obviously) down to the low vitamin D. Which I know it won't be causing them!

The low vit D despite taking 3,000iu day could be a genetic SNP which means you don't absorb it well. It so happens I have this issue myself and need 5 - 6,000iu a day to keep my level optimal. A nutritionist had me reduce my dose and retest not long ago and sure enough my level dropped out of optimal.
What time of day did you do your GP blood test and did you fast before the test only drinking water?
TSH is hghest at 9am or earlier and food can affect blood results.
It looks like Hashi's is just taking ts time to destroy your thyroid and so far its still hanging in there. Keep testing though.
Have you tried a strictly gluten free diet which helps many Hashi sufferers?
Looks like they haven't updated some of my results yet but I'll add those onto my post when they do.
Yes I had my test at about 9.15am and fasted beforehand.
I've not tried gluten free, the thought scares me 🙈
Oh I didn't realise it could be a genetic thing. I've just had a DNA test done and have my raw data downloaded ready to go through it all so I'll have to see what comes up on that!
The % through the range and the ratio only apply when you are taking T4 thyroid hormone replacement and once your T4 reading is up in the top quadrant of its range.
With over range TPO antibodies it's evident your thyroid will be struggling and with such a low T4 it should help you get a diagnosis - is there another doctor who may be more understanding of your thyroid health issue ?
No thyroid hormone replacement works well until your core strength vitamins and minerals are optimal - I now aim for a ferritin at around 100 - folate 20 - active B12 around 125 - ( serum B12 500 ++ ) and vitamin D at around 100 :
You need to get all four vitamins tested and improve to GOOD levels
Low vitamin levels tend to lower TSH
It’s ALWAYS worth trying strictly gluten free diet, but get coeliac blood test first
It’s not as hard as it seems. Spend 2-3 weeks before considering trial thinking at each meal what you might eat instead
Which vitamin D are you using?
Are you also taking a separate magnesium supplement in afternoon or evening
Here’s link for how to request Thyroid U.K.list of private Doctors emailed to you, but within the email a link to download list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists
Ideally choose an endocrinologist to see privately initially and who also does NHS consultations
