How long do you wait for blood tests.
Who was doing the testing? NHS? Or one of the private companies? If it was for a private company, which one? If it was private when did you send off the blood sample? Was it sent off by first class mail or guaranteed next day delivery by 1pm?
Hi Humanbean thank you for getting back to me, my bloods were taken by NHS.
Well, assuming it was the NHS doing the actual testing as well as the blood draw, when I've had blood tests done I've usually been told the results should be available in a week. You could phone up your doctor's surgery (or go in person) on Monday and ask if the results are in and when can you can have a copy of the results. Remember to take picture ID with you and proof of address. Be aware that receptionists may have to get permission from a GP to release the results to you.
My nhs tests are back within 24 hours but I can’t get them until a doctor authorises it, which takes at least another 24 hours.
My GP has them back either the same day or the day after. I can't get a copy until the GP reviews them, which can take a day or so.
Multiple tests can be done in the same vial - the different type of tests has different coloured "bottle tops". TSH can be red or yellow, FT3 and FT4 are yellow.
Hi Babette was at doctors today about my stenosis, my blood tests i was told were all clear, i did not ask for a copy as i was a bit upset , as usual i was not being listened to. Will get them next week & put them up, so i can get them explained to me as the doctors don't have time & don't understand them.
B12 takes a few days longer to be processed I think.
Hi meme thank for getting back to me, at doctors today about my stenosis, my blood tests were back & i was told they were all fine, will have to get a copy next week as i was a bit upset at being fobbed of again!!! that i just had to leave the surgery. Hopefully get my results up next week & get some things explained to me by people who know what they are taking about.
I access my blood tests done by the GP on line via Patient Access - arranged with my GP practice . Often bloods are available to see online late afternoon on the day of the test . More complex tests can take longer . My husband had bloods done on Tuesday morning this week and we read the results on line at 5.30pm the same day .
Thank you Maybe 21, we don't have that system in our surgery.
