Hi to everyone here! Am pretty confused & frustrated right now and would love some advice.

I was diagnosed w hypothyroidism in February of this year although I do believe I must have had this for a very long time.

I’m reposting the results from this past April along w partial results from July after being on small dose of Levo 25mcg. for 4 months. And when I had the July bloodwork done I was in the middle of weaning off of Levo , taking it only every other day until I finished. (Levo was disagreeing with me in so many ways. Horrible bloating, hairloss, constipation , weight gain etc.) Unfortunately they didn’t test everything in July that was ordered so I don’t have the much needed antibodies & a few others tests needed as well.

The same thing happened w/the new tests I just took yesterday October 4th. They ordered a complete panel of everything again, yet only tested the same 5...with no antibodies tested which I was so anxious to see ..as I’ve been GF (& mostly Dairy & Soy free) for several months now. So am going again next week to complete the tests (antibodies, vitamins) that weren’t done ...but in meantime I do want to list what I have so far. I’m just not sure if fasting is still involved to get the best results (since I’m not on meds) when I go in on Tuesday. I did fast for yesterday’s results & am wondering if that was the best way to do it since since I’m not on meds? Will post those next week.

Tnx in advance you guys, for any advice or help you can give me....its much appreciated!!! :)

Remember the October results i wasnt taking meds (my Dr knew this) but I had significant diet changes & have increased vitamins , especially B & D3 .. along with healthy doses of Essential Amino Acids each day .

Tnk you!

Bloodwork as follows:

For: 4/20/18 (and partial results from July & October 2018 listed in appropriate areas)

TSH 4.23 mlU/L (0.40-4.50 ml/UL)

(December 2017: 5.27)

TSH JULY 2018: 4.59

TSH OCTOBER 2018: 9.93

T3 free 2.8 ( 2.3-4.2 pg/mLF )

T3Free July: 2.7

T3Free October: 3.0

T4 free: 1.2 ng/dl. ( 0.8- 1.8 ng/dl )

T4Free July: .09

T4free October: .09

T4 Total: 6.1 mcg/dL ( 4.5-12.0 )

None in July

T4 October: 5.2

Thyroglobulin Antibodies 293< or = 1 lU/mL F H ( or 1.0 normal ?)

Thyroid Peroxidase AB 54 < 9 IU/mL F H

(Range less than 9 normal?)

Vitamin B12 482 pg/mL ( 200-1100 pg/mL)

Vitamin D : 25 Hydroxy: 23 ng/mL (30-100 ng/mL)

Vitamins D July: 58

No Vit D tested for October

*(in April THEY HAD PRESCRIBED VITAMIN D3 50,000 unit caps , taking 1 capsule once p/week for 8 weeks ..& then after that 2000 OTC units daily

Folate 17.4 ng/mL (it didn’t give a range here but I think they said it was low?)

Your antibodies are positive here

TPO are 54 This days anything over 9 is positive

TG antibodies- result not clear

July Vitamin D was still too low. Are you now supplementing

Which brand of Levothyroxine were you taking?

Was it Teva. It does not agree with many people

25mcg is only half the standard starter dose of Levothyroxine. That often causes problems. Too little to offer enough Thyroid hormones but enough to turn your own thyroid production down

NHS guidelines saying standard starter dose is 50mcgs

beta.nhs.uk/medicines/levot...

Your TSH is far too high, and antibodies confirm Hashimoto's

Low vitamin levels are common result

Vitamin D too low

B12 is not brilliant

Folate you need range

Ferritin is ok

Hi! I agree totally with slow dragon and fasting is absolutely not necessary for the blood test. Your T4 should be MUCH lower. I also take T3 and T4 meds and only feel OK when T4 is around 0.4. Not sure if cutting out dairy and soy will have any impact on the thyroid but really do not think so. Best of luck.

Tnx so much for your reply Phantom007 ...much appreciated!

Was so used to going early & fasting before bloodwork when i was taking the Levo. So it just made me think since am not taking any meds right now ...what is the best way to get an accurate count when I go in next week? Of course I guess am also hoping the TSH from last week isn’t completely accurate, ha 😉 Tnk you again!

Hi Phantom007 ! Do you mind me asking if you’re maybe taking NDT or if not..what meds are you currently taking? Unfortunately I I may have to go back on something once I get these last results this week but I won’t take Levo again. I’ve heard it’s much better to go natural with both T3 & T4 ...& there’s much fewer side effects? Tnx so much for any info you may have😊
