CT Found nodule this spring. Ultrasound of thyroid showed 4 nodules-2 greater than 10 mm. Endocrinologist ran bloods: Bloods showed no Hashimoto’s. But follow up FNA biopsy of nodule was positive for Hashimoto’s. So I am sero negative Hashimoto’s.

TSH 1.98.

Thyroglobulin Antibodies 12 Range 10-115 iu/mL

TPO antibodies 18.3 Range 5-34 iu/mL

Vit D 55.1 range 30- 80 ng/ml. (Note: I take 50,000iu/week of D2)

Ferritin 306 Range 13-400 ng/ml

Old blood work listed below:

FYI- TSH was 4.07 in early 2013, 2.40 in late 2013, 1.82 in 2015, 1.85 in 2017

Folate and B12 not tested since 2015 when:

Folate was greater than 20. Range 5.2-20 pg,mL

B12 was 715. Range 211-946 ng/mL

Free t4 checked way back in 2013 as 1.07. Range .80-1.80 ng.mL

I have had polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) since 2014. Another autoimmune condition. Have been on prednisone the whole time. Now on 6 mg every other day of prednisone. CRP (which checks inflammation) currently 14.44. Range 0-10 mg/L

On LDN for last 2 months which is helping greatly with sleep and also helping with brain fog. Brain fog, really low energy, stiffeness mostly in legs, ankles, feet; and Hoarseness that comes and goes are my main issues. I do have a scalloped tongue. Just assumed most of the above to be part of my PMR. Now not sure if some is actually Hashimoto’s. Also hoarseness could be from Pulmicort I take for asthma?

Endo wants to do another ultrasound of thyroid at end of October (which will be 6 months since first ultrasound) and then will meet with me. I am not on any levo etc. yet.

Trying to learn as much as I can. Appreciate any comments or suggestions as I prepare for my late October appointment. Thanks

Hi, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's approx 10 years ago. The symptoms you mention I had, brain fog, legs felt like lead, it felt difficult to swallow, word finding / tongue tied, sleepy, low in mood, constantly tired, pregnancy difficulties. However, since being on thyroxine these symptoms are manageable.

It is an autoimmune system disorder but once you are on medication it can be well managed.
