Hypo tests

Hi All could do with some advice.... Have lots of Hypo symptoms and been to Endo who has done these test. But he said to me that he would not treat me just because I am sympromatic! He agrees I am Hypo and said I will need treatment but does not want to start too soon. I have PA, vit D & C deficiencies, all being treated adequately and yet I still suffer lots of symptoms which fit the Hypothyroid symptom list, so I think this could be the last piece of the jigsaw! Endo did agree with that and even pointed out that could be why my memory issues were not improving the way I would like.... I only ever put these down to B12d/PA. Any advice appreciated. I don't know where to go from here. Here are my results:

Free T3 - 4.8 pmol/L 3.1 - 6.8

FT4 - 13.6 pmol/L 11.0 - 22.0

TSH - 4.20 mIU/L 0.27 - 4.20

TPO Antibodies - 21 - IU/mL <34

"He agrees I am Hypo and said I will need treatment but does not want to start too soon"

And that just goes to show how cruel the treatment for hypothyroidism is here in the UK. In another country you would be treated when your TSH hit 3, here you have to wait until it reaches 10. Yet he agrees you are hypo but is happy to let you suffer. How crazy!

What are your current nutrient levels and how much are you supplementing?

Have you had Ferritin tested as well as Vit D and B12?

Have you had thyroglobulin antibodies tested as well as TPO?

That was all the results he sent me and my G.P. I am on daily injections of B12, 5mg Folic Acid daily, 5000 of Vit D daily along with Magnesium Malate in morning and Mag. Glycinate at night as my RLS is terrible. I was D deficient and am taking these as maintenance now, not been tested for a while but was on 10,000 daily from Nov until April and just reduced to 5000 this month. He was the one who said that my memory issues could be the thyroid!

I agree with SeasideSusie and quite frankly I wouldn't put up with this rubbish from supposed-to-be experts. They prove they know nothing at all and this is from TUK and you will see that sufferers have much more knowledge than those who are supposed to be knowledgeable. They are not.

You are clearly hypo:

Sometimes I think they are masochistic in ignoring clinical symptoms and allowing person to suffer.

Statement " He was the one who said that my memory issues could be the thyroid". Well you can print-out the following so he can learn some more symptoms, to be ready for the next person especially if he receives a payment but keeping in mind that we have all contributed towards the education of these people:-

The sooner you start the better! Before it becomes entrenched. The longer you are hypo, the longer it will take for you to get rid of the symptoms. Another endo without a clue! :(
