Hypo symptoms and test results

just had these bloods done yesterday:

Serum free triiodothyronine level 5.40 pmol/L [3.5 - 6.8]

Serum free T4 level 9.5 pmol/L [7.8 - 18.0]

Serum TSH level < 0.05 mIU/L [0.2 - 4.3]; Below low reference limit

As they reduced my Levo to 75/100mcg on alternate days to 75mcg daily, my T4 has dropped significantly. It was 15 3 months ago (same range). T3 was increased from 15mcg per day to 20mcg, so that’s gone up. I have cold hands, some brain fog, reflux worse, waking more at night and am more tired. I’m wondering if I need 100mcg Levo and less t3. I’ve actually recently dropped the t3 back to 15mcg per day because of terrible anxiety.

Free T4 (fT4) 9.5 pmol/L (7.8 - 18) 16.7%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.4 pmol/L (3.5 - 6.8) 57.6%

What was the timing of your last dose of Levo & T3 before this test? Levo should be 24hrs, T3 8-12 hours.

FT4 is far too low. Some do OK at this level but as you have symptoms you likely need it higher.

What supplements are you taking?

test was 7.30am. Took Levo 24 hours before and a third of t3 dose at 8pm the night before. Only water before the test. I take a good B complex, magnesium and vitamin D.

Did you leave the B Complex off for 3 days before the test as it will contain biotin which gives false results.

When did you drop your T3 dose back down to 15mcg? We should be on a constant dose for 6-8 weeks before testing.

Current results, if all timing was correct, show you could do with more Levo.

I did stop the b vit. I only dropped the t3 for 3 or 4 days before.

It's not ideal changing dose a few days before a test but still you need more Levo. Your time spacing from last dose was good.

I was experiencing terrible anxiety and my GP agreed I should reduce it. He then asked me to have a blood test. Not ideal.

OK, so reducing the T3 a few days before would mean that your result isn't reliable for FT3, it needs a few weeks for levels to settle, but your other results and symptoms do seem to point to you being one of us on combo meds who needs FT4 higher in range.
