Thyroid issue

I have under active thyroids and have been on 50 daily for about a year now and in August 2017 all my bloods were good and in range.

I had a blood test yesterday and the results are out of range bad...

T4 is 79.4 (high)

TSH is 0.02 (low)

Sodium 178 (high)

ALT 58 (high)

MCH 25 (low)

Any help here please?

I’m also on 7mg or prednistalone oral steroids for my ulcerative colitis.

But that’s all the meds I’m on.

Thanks guys

As mentioned in both of your identical threads, you need thyroid antibodies testing. If you have a diagnosed underactive thyroid and are on Levothyroxine, the most likely reason for your suppressed TSH and high FT4 is an antibody attack, so you need your thyroid antibodies testing to see if you have autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's.

This is the first posting on here and it’s stupid to show 2 “identical threads” when I clicked edit and added the ranges, has that produced another thread? Im lost on this site.. I’ll get the antibodies checked thank you ever so much for you time helping :)

Doc told me yesterday to stop Levo completely and wait for another 2 weeks for another BT to see what my levels are then? But what do I do in the meantime as 2 weeks things could get worse?

Earlier today with 1 reply and this is the one you added the ranges to, editing that post wouldn't have produced this post as a duplicate (as you can see there are no ranges in this one).

Your GP wants you to come off Levo for 2 weeks to try and reduce your FT4 and increase your TSH and get them back into range.

I see thank you for time here, makes sense, sorry for any confusion :(

What if I do have Hashimoto? What do I need to take to help it?

I went to bed with and just woke up today with a major headache above my right eye all night :(

If you have Hashimoto's there is no treatment for it, only the resulting Hypothyroidism is treated.

However, you can help reduce the antibodies by adopting a strict gluten free diet and supplementing with selenium L-selenomethionine 200mcg daily.

Ok thank you, do you know of a reliable gluten free food listing at all please, best I begin to look into changing my diet.

Do I need the doctor to subscribe selenium L?

I stopped taking Levo on Tuesday. My headache has gone (very odd) but now Im having the shakes. My hands... is this a sign of needing that Levo?

I'm not gluten free so I can't help there other than to say the easiest way is to prepare all your food yourself, avoid packaged food and read any labels. There are many members here who are gluten free so if you make a new post asking about gluten free diet they will help.

But of course, it would be sensible to get thyroid antibodies tested first tinder if you are Hashi's. There are two types - Thyroid Peroxidase and Thyroglobulin and you would need both testing.

Selenium is not prescribed by doctors as far as I know.

I don't know if your hands shaking is anything to do with the Levo. It could be that you are still overmedicated and it's a symptom of that, and when your FT4 comes back into range maybe that symptom will resolve.

Hiya, I don’t take any meds before my BTs and I have them around 8-8.45am on an empty tummy to give true readings. These readings was just that, in the morn with empty belly. My cortisol level is 57 btw, but I assume my pred steroids is suppressing that.

Why do you think I’m “under” medicated?

Hi guys, the doc wouldn’t test my antibodies, B12 and vit D either 🙄

So had a follow up blood test and my ranges are still crap.

CRP 8 (0-5 range)

T3 33.5 (3.5-6.5 range)

T4 78.6 (9-23 range)

TSH <0.02 (0.25 - 5 range)

Doc said I’m to have beatablockers (Atenolol 50mg) daily, saying I’m now Hyper... no mention Hashimoto 🤷🏻‍♂️
