Questioning a Thyroid issue

Hi there, I've been in surgical menopause for almost 5 years after surgery for PMDD. Since surgery, I've been trying to find hormonal balance by adding back sex hormones. Throughout this period, my SHBG has continued to rise.In spite of adding back sex hormones (I still haven't found the balance which works for me), I have continued to suffer from fatigue (feeling bone tired), disturbed sleep, low mood. I also have significant hair loss, constipation, cold hands and low libido & patches of missing eyebrow hair.

I have put these symptoms down to insufficient free Testosterone, on account of my high SHBG. However, when discussing my SHBG with a lady in a hormone support group, she questioned my Thyroid.

I have had Thyroid checked a few times over the last years, and they have been within range. Here they are:

Early Jan 23

TSH 1.85

Free Thyroxine 13.0

Late Jan 23

TSH 1.41

Free Thyroxine 13.0

Free T3 4.41

May 23

TSH 0.96

Free Thyroxine 12.0

Free T3 4.50

Dec 22

TSH 1.64

Free Thyroxine 12.9

November 22

TSH 1.28

Free Thyroxine 13.9

August 22

TSH 2.15

Free Thyroxine 12.8

June 22

TSH 1.71

Free Thyroxine 12.4

Free T3 4.54

April 22

TSH 2.36

Free Thyroxine 11.3

March 22

TSH 2.05

Free Thyroxine 13.4

Would you say from looking at the above, that I may have an issue with my Thyroid whichp needs further investigation?

I appreciate that the above results don't cover a full Thyroid panel nor Cortisol checks.

Thanks in advance.

please add ranges on Ft4 and Ft3 results

Were all tests done early morning

Suggest you test thyroid antibodies and vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 too

Thanks for your comments.

Bloods were taken on a morning, but at the time I was testing my sex hormones and wasn't focusing on the Thyroid results.

The ranges on the tests are as follows-

TSH Range 0.27-4.2

Free Thyroxine Range 12- 22

Free T3 Range 3.1-6.8

I was just wondering if the sketchy results I already have, could indicate that I need to look into Thyroid further? I know that sometimes 'within range' means nothing.

Thanks again.

Definitely then

Ft4 very low

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Hi there,

I have the results of my Thyroid tests. Someone has looked at them for me and said my FT3 isn't great but wouldn't necessarily be classed as low Thyroid. This person flagged my B12 and Folate results which they said were low. Once they found out I supplement B Vitamins, they told me that my results would be showing higher than they are in reality and that it was an even bigger indication that B12 and folate were low and needed attention.

I was also told my Cortisol was on the low side. I'd be grateful if anyone can give me their thoughts on my results please. Apologies if this is information overload.

Thanks
