Hi all,

Just back from the Drs with latest blood tests as follows:

TSH <0.02. (0.5-4.0)

T4. 25. (10-20)

T3. 8.9. (3.5-6.0)

My dose of neomercazole was increased to 10mg twice a day with a blood test monthly and a wait and see approach.

My question is the Dr also tested thyroid autoantibodies :

Anti-thyroglobulin Abs <20 IU/ml. (<41)

Anti-thyroidal peroxidase Abs 45 U/ml (<60)

Does anyone know what the autoantibodies indicate?

Also is there a connection between low iron and low ferritin and Graves?

My Dr is sending me to a GI specialist because if these results:

Iron. 6 umol/L. (10-30)

T Sat 10. (13-45)

Ferritin. 22 ugL. (30-400)

Any thoughts on this?

Your low antibodies imply you don't have an autoimmune thyroid disease... hashimotos. However there is a chance thyroid meds lowered your antibodies and without meds your antibodies would be higher. I'm not certain meds would lower your antibodies that much though.

Thanks for your reply RobinAnn,

I've only been back on neo for 7 days following a 6 year remission. Dr started me on 5mg twice daily now increased to 10mg bd. That blood test was done the day he started me on neo so wouldn't have affected the results
