GP says TSH is within range and no futher increase of levo is required. I am on 100 mcg. GP will not increase to 125 mcg with fear of going over active.
Recent TSH 2.15 range 0.27 - 4.20 Labs protocol, they do not check for T4 if the TSH falls within the normal range.
Prior to that March 2017 whilst on 75 mcg TSH 7.67 normal range 0.27 - 4.20 and Serum free T4 level 17 range 12.00 - 22.00.
GP would not retest antibodies again as it was done twice in 2011.Results April 2011, TPO Antibodies 6 range 0 - 15 and tested again in June 2011 5 range 0 - 15.
My GP has also said vitamins are all within normal range and no supplements required. I am a vegetarian.
Vitamin D 94 Range 50 - 140
B12 814 Range 197 - 771
Ferritin 37 Range 13 - 150
Folate 14.9 Range 3.9 - 20
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. If you recommend supplements please let me know which brands and dosages. Thank you all for your help.

You are a little undermedicated to have TSH 2.15. The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most patients that will be when TSH is 0.27 - 1.0 with FT4 in the upper range. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... Email enquiries@thyroiduk.org if you would like a copy of the Pulse article to show your GP.
NHS doesn't usually retest antibodies. Your thyroid peroxidase antibodies were negative in 2011.
Ferritin is optimal halfway through range. You can raise ferritin by supplementing iron with 1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and minimise constipation. Iron should be taken 4 hours away from Levothyroxine and you should retest ferritin 4-6 months after you start supplementing. Try Ferrous Fumarate 210mg daily.
VitD, B12 and folate are good but as B12 is not available in plant foods you should supplement 500mcg methylcobalamin daily to maintain levels. Jarrows Formula and Solgar are good brands.
Thank you for your response, I did show her the article and was told that as a GP they have to follow guidelines set out by the labs and if increased to 125 mcg there would be a risk to that I may go over active. I suppose she is just being cautious just in case her status as a GP is questioned by the surgery. I just wish these labs would only show the range 0.27 - 1 it would be so much simpler.
I do not know what else I can do to get the TSH to 1 or less?
You've misunderstood. 0.27-1.0 is within the lab range of 0.27 - 4.20 so there is no reason why your GP can't increase dose. The only way to get TSH lower is to increase dose. Show your GP the Pulse article and if she still refuses to increase dose see another doctor for a second opinion.
Sorry, I meant that it would be easier if the lab range stopped up to 1 because it is up to 4.20 I know she will not budge. Will have to see another doctor. Thank you for your suggestions, very much appreciated.
