Hi all, sorry if this goes on a bit but I'm a newbie on here who has just got home from hospital after a total thyroidectomy yesterday and I feel completely lost, I've been sent home with a 2 weeks sick note, painkillers and I have been started on 75 mcg of levothyroxine, I asked about my calcium levels and was told the 2 blood tests I had yesterday were within range so I was okay.
I feel there should have been questions I needed to ask but haven't.
The reason for the TT was, my bloods showed I was over active but I had underactive symptoms and I had multiple toxic nodules on my thyroid gland with an increasing goitre, it has taken me over twenty years of pestering my GP telling him something wasn't right, numerous scans and needles stuck in my neck to get here, I'm relieved its happened but I've read so much now on vitamins, natural thyroid, other alternative meds I'm all over the place with what to do, or stick with Levo and see how I get on, I was previously on Carbimazole pre op.
Im having my neck clips removed Fri am, does anyone's have any tips for what I could/should be asking my GP,
Thanks for reading!
