Hi everyone I had a total thyroidectomy in July and have had nothing but trouble since. I keep getting swelling in my neck and have had numerous scans, Ct scans etc. My Gp now thinks I could have Laryngeal nerve damage and has asked for blood test to be done.

My wife has had a full Thyroidectomy 10 years ago. She has struggled with health problems similar to Hypothyroidism. Lethargy, aches and pains, skin aging depression etc. Her symptoms are increasingly getting worse and more regular bouts of weakness and pain in the joints.

I really don't know what to do I have had one thyroid removed (mistaking)the thyroid that has the toxic nodule was left hence now they want to remove that due to undetectable tsh. I really don't know what to do. I feel like I'm jumping from the devil to the deep blue sea. Jumping from hyper to hypo.

Had 2x eyelid surgeries and orbital decompression surgery and then I had a thyroidectomy after 3 opinions. Took 125mg Levo but felt unwell so tried ndt which made me feel better in myself but I still had painful muscles, no energy and palpitations. I've now gone back to 100mg Levo and 10mg t3.

Note I'm not talking about RAI after the thyroid is removed but RAI to zap the remaining thyroid after partial thyroidectomy instead of surgery.

hi all, I was wondering if anyone experienced the same as I am now experiencing. 2 weeks after the surgery, I feel extremely tired and when I move around the house or go up and down the stairs, I get palpitations. I also have very bad short term memory now and can feel hot and cold at the same time

Any one who's had a total thyroidectomy had negative experiences particularly with extreme fatigue, pain, neuropathy and autonomic dysfunction such as POTs?

I asked the GP for blood tests in December following tests in September after Thyroidectomy in August. the GP only requested TSH so I managed to get the hospital endocrinology to do tests but I don't seem to be able to get a follow up appointment.

I had my post op appointment on the 28th January and the outcome is I have to have a Total Thyroidectomy on 5th March, this is due to the cancer being found in the blood vessel of the left lobe removed, I will then have RAI treatment.

I had a total thyroidectomy 25 years ago. I currently take 100mcg thyroxine a day, with no supplements. I decided to check my levels with Medichecks this week and followed the patient to patient tip about taking my thyroxine prior to testing. My test was done at 09:05 am.

After a hemi my TSHnis reading 4.1 and my T4 11.The consultant reluxtant to acknowlede this is underactive as 'in range'. But i feel.isn't optimol and i am loosingnlots of hair and really distressed. I am under the impressiln i need a lower TSh and higher T4 to help!
