Full thyroid bloods and guidelines

Hello all

I previously wrote a post on here I am going private but yesterday I had a break through and saw a gp who says with my history of Graves we should he testing other areas T3 etc. He is also arranging for me to get a copy of all my notes back to 2011 so I can see all my results to date. I was told up till yesterday that my THS results were normal, but this GP says they are low and I think he said I have antibodies, sorry my brain fog kicked in and can't quite remember.

Can anyone on here give me a full list of tests that should be carried out to confirm what's going on with this fatigue, swollen glands puffy face and weight gain? And I'm maybe pushing it here but what the levels should be of a normal functioning thyroid?

Last time I had a thyroid episode it appeared the doctors and consultants knew exactly what to do and I left my care in their hands, this time round not so much, I feel I need to educate myself so I can feel better, return to work (been off for two weeks now) and be a mummy to my three year old and a wife to my husband.

Thanking you all in advance.

All blood tests for thyroid hormones have to be at the very earliest, fasting. an if you were taking levothyroxine or other thyroid hormones you'd allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose and test and take them afterwards.

You need TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.

Get a print-out and put them on a new post for comments. remember that ranges must also be stated as labs differ and it makes it easier to comment.

Thank you very much. I am med free at the moment, I was on a thing called propylthiouracil 50mg but haven't needed that since March 16. I was a typical overactive thyroid but this time I feel like my body has gone under, not so anxious or hyper just burnt out sluggish and swollen

The reference ranges should be on the print out, next to the results, may be in brackets. Something like

TSH: 2.5 (0.2-4.2)
