Tests for Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Folate, Ferritin...

Why is it important for people with hypothyroidism to have these blood tests? And should they all be in the upper quarter of the range? I would really like to have some proper studies to back me up on this when I go to see my GP and ask to have them done; she's usually fantastic, but I like to show her that I'm asking from a position of science, not just blindly following the advice on the internet (no offence meant, you clearly know what you're all on about). I've found a good one for vitamin B12, are there any for the others?

...sometimes if you produce the science it won't persuade your GP in every case. Doctors are rarely given training on vitamins and minerals. No money for Big Pharma either....so we have to go it alone in many cases....

Thanks. I'm perfectly happy to buy my own, just need to know the levels to start with! I think my GP surgery does private blood testing too, so even if she doesn't feel it necessary I can get the bloods done professionally. Happy days!
