Advice needed ! I have hashimotos . Currently on 100 thyroxine . Last blood tests were TSH 0.5 t4 16.2 t3 4.8 . Low ferritin 28 . My GP and endo both say this is ok and episodes of intermittent limb weakness , breathlessness and loss of speech isn't due to hashimotos . My vit b12 and vit d are both ok as well as other blood tests and now we are going down the route of functional dysfunction which I personally don't think it is . It is obviously affecting work ...every 10 days is 2 days off due to my symptoms . Anyone else had similar symptoms ?

Advice for hashimotos .
Someone who has hashi's will reply. I am sorry you are not too well and its disappointing when you are already taking medication. This is a link and the pharmacist has hashi's and also has a facebook page too.
Sorry to hear you've been unwell. Do you have the ranges for your results?
I was recently diagnosed Hashi's, have been hypo 7 year and on 100mcg levo. The medics don't bother with you if you have Hashi's, "just carry on with levo" I am about to start paleo diet to exclude gluten and dairy from my diet, as they cause increase in antibodies. My brain fog has gone but I still have lots of other symptoms and hope these will gradually reduce on the diet. Will be posting on here how I get on! Do get all your test results and also ask for B12, folate, iron, ferritin and Vit D tests good luck
I excluded wheat a few years ago and it definitely helped , diary was next on my list , but as I don't eat meat it wont be as easy !
Hjane, as you don't eat meat, just wondering what your B12,Folate and Iron results actually were? My doctor said they were OK when clearly there were not. Your Folate for instance I believe needs to be at least 12, mine was 7.5 and she thought that was fine. I've been supplementing for 10 years B12 and my results were 405 but I still got nerve damage. The cells pinch iron if there's not enough B12 around. My iron is low at 11, I'm trying to supplement to increase it.
All theses things need to be at the top 25% of the ranges, especially with hashis to feel as well as you can.
I would also say you have a way to go with FT4 & FT3, but there again, because you can swing high or low with hashis the blood test results aren't accurate (if you believe them :-)) so you have to be treated by symptoms, which seems to be a challenge for our doctors.
You need a good amount of iron to ensure the T3 hormone gets into your cells.
