Do you want to take part in research to help advance speech therapies for ataxias?
The University of Strathclyde and US company LSVT Global are recruiting for participants with Friedreich’s ataxia (FA) aged 18 or over to take part in an online one-to-one
speech
therapy
study.

Excellent speech/voice app for PWP.
I was looking for something comparative with my
speech
therapy
( long vowels, functional terms, reading, improvized
speech
analysis...) and found "Loud & Clear" to be helpful.

grad school, something I’ve worked towards for a VERY long time. I made so many sacrifices to be here and I got a C in a clinical experience. In my program you have to get a B to pass and move forward.

Vocal chord damage in thyroidectomy
There will be a referral to
Speech
Therapy
and my surgeon has arranged for me to see an ENT Consultant on Tuesday who may be able to do a new procedure whereby the vocal chord is injected to support it, obviously I need to find out more about it but suffice to say my lovely surgeon is doing everything

Care Home response
I have had a lot of support from the health professionals , consultant, physio,
speech
therapy
and dietitian. Palliative Care team have also been in touch. He has good friends who visit him so even if his communication skills are compromised he can see they are here for him.

The council have been really helpful and
speech
therapy
have been excellent. Old friends have been good to catch up with for an hour or so but I don't know if it's common but insomnia and depression have kicked in. I was walking "little dog" 5km a day. That is down to 1 mile.

Asking for your stories and help
Hi, I'm new here. Yesterday, after 2 years of searching, my 75-year-old mother was finally diagnosed. We are from Poland, where there is no other treatment apart from amantadine and levodopa. There are also no websites or support groups like yours. That's why I would like to ask if, apart from a physiotherapist

Update on my son Adam
Hi All This is just an update on how my 8-year-old boy is doing after his Hemorrhagic stroke. We're slowly making progress with his motor skills, most of the time he crawls about the house but with help from me walking a little. his appetite has improved a lot so very happy on that side of things.

I GAVE UP.
I will try and be short about my story. It is a snapshot of events whilst I was on Levothyroxine for more or less 25 yrs. I never felt well and was never referred to an endocrinologist. I gained weight, my hair thinned. I had problems not only with my voice, but swallowing food. I had brain fog, acute

ICU Stay Neuro Challenges
Seeing if anyone has any insight. On May 16th my mom (62 years old) went to her cardiologist with chest pain. She did have afib for the last three year but she had that under control. When she went to her cardiologist on the 16th he sent her to the ER just because he was concerned with chest pains

My doctors put me in physical
therapy
. I put myself on
speech
therapy
. Got to love the internet. Spent 10 + yrs, 100s of doctors, 4 states and still nothing. Then came the rash. I saw a dermatologist who said I had vasculitis and he suspected with my history it was systemic. He put me on treatment.

News we've all been waiting for!
Ralph's had the most amazing few days. On Tuesday he had the swallow x-ray and the speech therapist was amazed at the results. Firstly he gave him some sour tasting stuff, which Ralph insisted he tried to see how horrible it was, lol. Then he had barium mixed with water, then barium with yoghurt then
