Hi All
This is just an update on how my 8-year-old boy is doing after his Hemorrhagic stroke. We're slowly making progress with his motor skills, most of the time he crawls about the house but with help from me walking a little. his appetite has improved a lot so very happy on that side of things.
speech is still difficult for him as his understanding on any level is low, basically functioning as a toddler would.
He did start to withhold his poo's a month back so had to introduce a laxative program for a few weeks. He seems to now be doing normal bowel motions in his overnight nappy, not sure if he is waking up or doing it in his sleep but by the look of the consistently of it in the nappy, looks normal now so me thinking he wakes up, goes poo then quickly goes back to sleep till morning. He is fitted in a Snuggleblank nappy with a waterproof wrap which lasts him right through the night, these cloth nappies are hand made in the UK and are brilliant.
( included an image of his overnight nappy which to me looks normal bowel motion don't you think ? ) Note ! he wears a compressive spandex fitted sleep suit so it would be difficult to change his nappy during the night and would be upsetting for him, fortunately he is not bothered by the contents of his nappies.
He sleeps 7pm till around 8am most days, them give him breakfast in his special highchair, after which I change him out of his nighttime cloth nappy and give him a warm bath which he enjoys a lot.
We are making progress as the months fly buy and shortly will be seeing a speech therapist.
Thats about it for now.
Thank you all for the supportive comments in chat.
