haemorrhoids

hi

I have not wrote on here for a while just looking for some advice on haemorrhoids. Over the years I have intermittently suffered with haemorrhoids. I have just had abdo surgery about 2 weeks ago and was worried an out being constipated so I was taking 4 laxido for a few days, then 3, 2, 1 the last 2-3 days not taken anything. However I have had my bowels open didn’t feel particular constipated but I have been bleeding after bowel movement which last a few wipes. I can feel I have a couple large external haemorrhoids but also unsure if got internal ones.

I have used cream and when put the nozzle inside there was blood on it. As I have said had haemorrhoids previously and had the occasional bleeding but this time feels different the bleeding is not pouring/dripping but even if go for a wee and wipe behind there is a little blood.

As you can guess am an anxious person and worry it’s not the haemorrhoids as it’s different from before. Just wanted to ask if anyone had similar symptoms or experiences.

My back passage is very very sore and I can deal with that the bleeding frightens me.

Thanks

Hi, first check with your doctor. I had bleeding for about seven years from haemorrhoids. The doctor wasn't really concerned. Had banding several times. Didn't stop until surgery, so far so good. Try not to over wipe your bottom, use wet wipes.

hi there. You should go to your doctor, you may have a tear in the back passage, which I have got and they do bleed and are very painful. Book yourself a GP appointment.

thank you

Do they bleed in between bowel movements ? For example today had a bowel movement very little blood on wipe then went all day ok then about half hour ago went to the toilet no bowel movement and wiped and had blood on tissue. It’s not a lot of blood but the blood there and my bum is so pain full. I have been using cream and can feel a hard lump which I think is a haemorrhoid.

I am going to ring Gp Monday and have it checked out just thought would ask for advice,

You may have an ulcer on one of the larger ones you felt. It has happened to me before. It stopped bleeding after I got everything calmed down

Try making yourself a tub bath with warm water and Epsom salts. Soak once a day for a few days and see if they go away by themselves. I like to read in the tub so it's just fun and escape.

Hi there, have suffered greatly with haemorroids in the past. I found using a suppository for the inside ones and the cream for the outside ones worked better. I drank up to two littres of water a day to soften stools helped too. I used bleed too but it diddnt seem much harm as it was the piles that caused it. Try not to worry.

If your piles have actually come out of your anus, then I would say you need to act immediately just by really simply pushing them back in, i.e. every time you poo, which is when they tend to always come out, once you've finished wiping, have a square of kitchen towel (I use “Plenty”) ready, fold it in 4, put it under the cold tap, then squeeze the water out, then simply press it against the haemorrhoids using your fingertips to apply the pressure, doesn't need to be too hard, just keep a constant pressure, they will instantly start shrinking, although you won't notice, or believe that they are, as the fluid is gently, gradually forced out of them. You can release and move it around a bit as you feel necessary to try and keep an even pressure on all the swollen haemorrhoids, but you will soon get used to doing it. Then, all of a sudden after only about one to three minutes ‘ish, maybe a bit longer, you will realise that they quite suddenly become much, much less swollen, keep pushing, and adjusting the pad slightly as you feel necessary, and they will gently go completely back inside your anus! It truly feels like a miracle when they go back in, you feel SO relieved!, and COMPLETELY back to normal. NEVER, in my humble (yet sadly, very experienced!) opinion, put Preparation H, Anusol, etc, etc, or any of these creams on external haemorrhoids and imagine that will be any use whatsoever in getting them to go back inside your anus, you need to act IMMEDIATELY, and gently push them back in as above. Putting a cream on is, I believe not only utterly pointless, but will leave them outside, stretching and therefore damaging/further weakening them, making them more likely to come out again. The absolute key is, which I was never told, is to always do the above AS SOON AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN AFTER THEY HAVE COME OUT, to minimise the damage caused by leaving them being stretched outside the anus. Very occasionally I find one difficult to get back in, try repeatedly squeezing your sphincter muscles as you push it back in, or just put a bit of KY Jelly or Preparation H or similar on the pile area purely to lubricate it a bit, and that makes it slide back in really easily.
