pressure on my bladder

my story has always been diahorrea and very long floppy bowel apparently so long the tubes doing colonoscopy only managed to go half way so was advised not too have another colonoscopy as so many loops they could perforate bowel. But the last year has changed I know have chronic constipation and 2 weeks ago was passing blood when I wee as the pressure on my bladder was so painful. Doctors did usual water test but still waiting for results as my doctor is useless. He gave me antibiotics, He also gave me a mild laxatives to take for 6 days which worked a bit and the pain eased. But of course 5 days without laxatives and back to pain on my bladder. I started taking fibre-gel a little while ago but doctors told me I shouldn’t have taken that. Has anyone else had these issues as it’s so painful. The other thing I have been taking for 20 years in Amitriptyline 20mg for cramps and diahorrea wondering if I should stop that as my bowel has changed. Would really appreciate any help. As need to find a solution to make me able to go daily to the toilet so I don’t get bunged up I think😢Thank you

Hi I have what they call loopy bowel . A bit like a corkscrew the consultant told me which causes narrowing , my colonoscopy they couldn’t get very far to loopy , anyway I was given laxido or movicol which is similar and had to take it . As bad with constipation. So I take one at night and one in the morning . But what worked best for me was a tablet called Constella 290 or linaclotide 1a day . It helped with constipation . But dr have put me back on laxido which works I was Told I might have to take them long term . I would asked dr for a CT scan and it can show up rather than the colonoscopy . . I also was told fibre gel can take to long to come through a loopy bowel so not to take . Laxido softens the stool . But I’m not a dr so just would suggest taking to go and see about a stool softener .Dr don’t realise how much it effect you . I hope you get help soon 😊

Thank you. I will try what you said. It’s so life changing. I think I preferred the diahorrea as you can get tablets so easy for that. This is a nightmare. Thanks again

I prefer the diarrhoea as well as const can be so painful .i do hope you feel better soon 😁

Hi I was told after my last colonoscopy that I had a long loopy bowel but they did manage to get round to see all my bowel. My prob has always been diahorrea, but 6 months ago someone mentioned I might have constipated diahorrea, the person who mentioned it was not a clinician but it did make sense in what he said. Blood should when you have a bowel or bladder movement should always be checked out by your GP

Hi Nerissa. You also say you have pressure on your bladder. Have you seen a gynaecologist to check you don't have a prolapse which could also cause pressure on your bladder?

Yes that’s what I was prescribed 20 years ago. So I might try reducing it. Thanks

Hi if you are female, have you looked into endometriosis? I have this on both my bladder and bowel and also have had the symptoms you describe x

Hi actually didn’t think of that. I have had endometriosis I had my uterus removed 10 years ago. Didn’t think of it coming back not sure if it can I will look into it. Thank you

Hi Yes it can come back. It feeds off estrogen so if you still kept ovaries after hysterectomy. But endometriosis has been known to create it’s own estrogen to make itself grow. I hope you get sorted and manage to see an endometriosis specialist who can run the correct tests x

Thanks for the information. Yes I kept my ovaries. But never had a period since so I thought I was ok but definitely worth looking into see if it’s that. Thank you so much for your advice.
