Yesterday’s appointment at Dermatology
Hello. The photo is in response to KrazyKat’s post on craft hobbies. I knit these teddies for a friend’s son’s wedding earlier this year. I had an appointment with the dermatologist yesterday and it went surprisingly well. I saw a new consultant who really did seem to know about SCLE. She listened

Flu shot and Acalabrutinib
I'm in the USA on Acalabrutinib since June 21 2019. I had the flu shot meant for 65+ last Friday and started feeling woozy after about 1 1/2 hours later, with a small 99+ temperature. I spent the weekend off and on in bed. I felt like I had been in a dog fight, dog winning. I also had nose bleeds

Flu Jab
My GP surgery has a shortage of the flu vaccination, so in their wisdom they have decided to restrict the vaccine to over 60 year olds. Doesn't matter if you are 59 and at high risk, you don't get it. But if you are 60 and LOW RISK you will get it. Doesn't make sense other than it's just easier for them

Experimental TB Vaccine Looks Promising.
Usually, the BCG vaccine is given to children in nations with a high prevalence rate of TB but not for adults because efficacy varies. The new vaccine was tested on patients who had the latent form of tuberculosis (TB) Approximately 3,300 individuals participated in the study, with 1,626 of them getting

Flu shot
I cannot see where my last answer is but my husband and I are going for the fluu jab next week. We are both now in our early 80's and we will take anything that is going. I have no argument. It has kept us healthy until now,

Can vaccinations cause a flare?
I had a flu jab yesterday & I stupidly asked about the pneumonia jab. No she said there’s a shortage & you have to be on the priority list, I was. Well in the night all my joints were on fire 🔥. I can’t take pain killers, I’ve been awake since 4.30am in agony. Swollen painful 😖 joints all of them ☹️

Flu vaccine
Interesting comment from one of the doctors in my surgery. Not my usual doctor. I was asking if I should have flu jab. His initial reply was there were some reports stating that the vaccine could be a trigger for PMR . However because I have it , the benefits of having it may outweigh the negative as

Flu vaccination
I know this is a topic constantly mentioned, but yesterday I had my flu jab at the gp surgery. I questioned the fact that it was different to last year when I had the one for over 65’s. This one Flucelvax Tetra covers from 9 years and up. The nurse was quite insistent and went ahead. She said this is

Flu & Pneumonia vaccines
Sorry for a repeat topic but wasn’t sure if anybody would see my questions in my reply to another flu related post. I am 54 and I am booked in at my local Boots this Saturday for my annual flu jab , should I be asking for the ‘over 65’ due to my compromised immune system ? Last year I had the PPV pneumonia

Three in one.
I went for my annual visit to the COPD clinic, diabetic clinic and to have my flu jab on Monday afternoon (not the best time for me, more breathless in the afternoon and evening), but I made it. Emphysema is stable at severe stage four, I have gone down to borderline diabetic without the help of medication

Flu Jab
What do people think of getting a flu jab? I normally avoid as I don’t believe they get the right strains and rather let my immune system deal with it, but having now had AF, I’m not sure

Advice about flu vaccination please.
Hello everyone. I just need to ask if Paul ( my lovely husband who has the CLL) should have any particular flu vaccine. Our GP ( we are in the U.K.) says we should contact them about mid October, but some of the local pharmacies are advertising flu jabs now.... I have heard there are different types

Flu Jab
Hello everyone! I hope you are all ok (or as they say ‘as well as can be expected with Lupus’). Last year I asked on here if it was safe to have the flu jab and most said yes and I agreed. However I’ve had this year’s jab and I feel awful, can’t keep any food in me, can’t sleep and my whole body is

Flu Vaccinations
I have had my flu jab this year and my son Thomas has also had his flu jab. I asked him once and because I worked as a nurse he always trusted what I said and came for a flu jab.I did have a little difficulty getting an appointment through the receptionists because the surgery only offered for elderly

Can Flu Jab affect Fybro?
Yesterday I had my flu jab!! Last night started a headache and over night having a flare up, is this a coincidence or is it the flu jab, I have never had issues with the flu jab before but today I do hurt, trying to raise my spirit.
