Yesterday I had my flu jab!! Last night started a headache and over night having a flare up, is this a coincidence or is it the flu jab, I have never had issues with the flu jab before but today I do hurt, trying to raise my spirit.

I had the flu jab three years ago, and have been told to never have it again. It made me very very unwell and my GP said the nurse should never have given it to me in the first place. I was poorly for about a month. So I avoid it now

Why could you not have it? Are you allergic to whatever is in it? I have had it a lot of times and never any problems until now!

My doctor was not too sure if I should have it or not. He left the ball in my court about deciding whether to have it. he didn’t say I was at risk of a reaction. So I had it then when i was so unwell another doctor said I should never have had it and the nurse should have not administered it. BY then it was too late! Never had it since

Hi

Did they say why you couldn't have it? Take care of yourself from Lynne

in reply to

The doctor just said that a few of his patients previously who had fibromyalgia and some other illnesses hadn’t “done well” by having it.

I've had the flu jab since having fibro and can honestly say I have been ok. Maybe it's down to each individual. Take care of yourself

Most peculiar, and reckon you are dead right it’s all down to each individual. I hate flu but I hate how I felt even more when I had the vaccine that time - death warmed up !!

very sorry you had that bad response, but thankful it was no worse for you. I think we should certainly think twice when we are ill already, about adding any vaccine. I know others have different views. But I believe the vaccine I took as a schoolgirl has been the cause of my virtual lifelong illness and disability, being confined to bed so much and for 3 years between 1986-1989. Many have found that they have now Post-polio syndrome.

Not surprised you have had a headache and bad flare-up after a flu jab. I would never take this, as I know what it contains, but plenty of people do. It was through a polio vaccine given as a 15 year old schoolgirl, that I believe I have had Myalgic Encephalomylitis and Fibromyalgia, with IBS and plenty of add-ons virtually all my life. I know several friends who also took vaccines, and have suffered similarly. Bed ridden and disabled. There is a film going around on the dangers of vaccines. Can be found at youtu.be/X8CyVkgDKvo

I had a bad bout of flu two years ago. Combined with fibromyalgia, the pain was unbearable, causing me to cry out and to move my legs and arms all the time in bed. Every joint and muscle from neck to toes ached. My GP tried to get me into hospital but the beds were all full. I have never known pain like it and no drugs could deal with it. A flare up from a flu jab is nothing in comparison and I am definitely having a flu jab every year. Having the flu is far worse.

I still have headache and feeling unwell but you are right, having flu is far worse. My husband and I celebrated the millennium in bed with it. It was terrible. I just wanted someone to shoot me. This is the first year the flu jab has affected me but I think I’ll continue each year.

I blame HepB vacination for starting off fibro with myself!

When you get any vacination there is a lot going on with the immune system.

I have been having the Flu Jab for many years and have never had any bad reaction from it.

But this year when I had the jab I didn't feel very well anyway. I shouldn't have had it. I should have made different appointment for when I felt a bit better.

Anyway this time it did make me feel really ill after it. MY OWN FAULT REALLY.

Before the Nurse gave me the Jab she asked me if I was okay and I said yes.

But I wasn't.

I had just started on the Fentanyl Patches as well, so I expect that made me feel worse.

As well as having Fibromyalgia, i also have C.O.P.D and Asthma. Have been in Hospital twice with Pneumonia.

This is why I always have the Flu Jab.

But if you intend having the jab make sure you're well enough to have it.

Mind you, everyone is different, but I think it's worth having the jab, because if you do get the Flu it can lead to other complications.

Just make sure you feel well enough to manage it. Take Care Everyone. Gjkas 😏
