My son was recently diagnosed with ADHD combined type. Recently joined this group for support.
Hello, my six year old son was diagnosed 2 months ago with ADHD combined type. He is not currently on medication but I am open to it if that ends up being what he needs. I just wanted to share a book that I read that I haven't seen yet on other posts that has been helpful. It is called "This is your

W9R3 - I did it!!!!
I couldn’t get my ear buds to pair with my phone but I wasn’t going to let that spoil it, although I would miss
Yasmin
who has spurred me on from the very start. Park Run was my chosen route and I knew 30 mins achievable but what I didn’t expect was me running for the full 5k (37 mins). Wow!!!

I only get this on the days I should be taking the 7 day break on
Yasmin
weirdly. I take
Yasmin
and have a break every other month and seem to get on well with it. Does anyone know if I can take more packs together than two at a time?

Hormones affecting vaginal dryness
Hi I’ve been on microgynon for a year and it’s made me really dry and loss of libido, my gp changed me to
Yasmin
and it’s not improved at all. I’m considering going on the copper IUD but all I hear are negative things. Clearly there’s downsides to any contraceptive.

DIO2 and when to ask for T3
Hello As a result of my last NHS blood test showing my T3 level dropping and Health Unlocked previously advising me that my conversion rate was low/poor, (and having Hashimoto’s and my brother testing positive for DIO2 (Homozygous) and being put on T3), I got myself tested and I also have the DIO2 gene

/ Saxenda / metformin /something else ? Any diet and supplement recommendations also welcome. Feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed. Not sure where to start and what to do as all previous attempts at maintaining my weight and female features seem to have failed.

Do animal proteins cause an increase in alpha synuclein?
A HU comment contained the following: “but there was some clinical data that indicated that animal proteins are one of the causes of alpha-synuclein, which is thought to be the primary culprit in clogging the dopamine receptors. Dairy : could dairy products be making PD worse? Which are the offenders?
My plea: Take my wine, take my bread, take my desserts, take my chocolate if you must but please don’t take my cheese. But alas, cow dairy could be contributing to making PD worse. Epigenetic effects of casein-derived opioid peptides in SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells https://nutritionandmetabolism.biomedcentral.com

Switching from combined to mini pill with PCOS and Endo
I am nervous in switching as
Yasmin
has controlled a lot of the symptoms I got from PCOS (acne, dark patches of skin, darker hair growth and heavier periods) but I need to change something. Has anyone had success managing PCOS and Endo on the minipill?

Combined pill, weight and other options
I read that the
Yasmin
pill often has the opposite effect weight wise so am tempted to ask for that one. My GP mentioned the progesterone only pill but I've heard horror stories about that too. If anyone has any similar experience or advice it'd be much appreciated. Thanks Jayne

Switching Pills
After speaking to my consultant earlier this morning he has suggested changing my pill from Microgynon to
Yasmin
due to bleeding when taking back to back pack and to increase my hormone levels to hopefully stop this from happening.
