Combined pill, weight and other options

Hi all,

So a bit of background. I had a laparoscopy 3 years ago to remove a cyst from my ovary which turned out to be a chocolate cyst and they also found adhesions on my other ovary and diagnosed endometriosis. I had a mirena coil already and so haven't had further treatment.

6-9 months ago I started getting pain again in the days before my period was due which got worse to the point where all I could do was curl up in a ball when it happened. I had another ultrasound and they've found a 4cm cyst on one ovary and a 2cm and 1cm cyst on my other ovary and also what they think is another 1cm cyst between my uterus and bowel which were described as deep penetrating.

I discussed treatment options with my consultant, he was happy to operate but was concerned it's only 3 years since my last op so worries if this will keep happening so regularly with each op getting trickier. We decided to change my hormonal treatment as the mirena didn't seem to be helping so I've switched onto the combined pill (I've been prescribed Levast) rolling 3 packets together. It's been years since I was on the pill but when I last came off of it I lost a noticeable amount of weight within weeks. Since going on it again I've gained over half a stone and just feel bloated and a bit crap. My GP is up for trying different pills but we decided to stick this out for a few more months just so I'm certain if I'm not happy with it.

I was wondering if anyone had similar issues on the pill? I read that the Yasmin pill often has the opposite effect weight wise so am tempted to ask for that one. My GP mentioned the progesterone only pill but I've heard horror stories about that too. If anyone has any similar experience or advice it'd be much appreciated.
