My name is Yasmin and I am a newbie to this group. I gave birth a year and a half ago, and I am finally ready to start losing my baby weight and get back to my pre-baby weight of 13 stones. For the past few weeks I have been completing the C25K runs, I am starting week 9 this week and graduating very soon! I didn’t think it would be possible for me to run consistently for 30 minutes, 90 seconds seemed like a daunting prospect! Now that I realise I can do more than I think I can, I am now ready to start my weight loss journey. I didn’t start running to lose weight, but it has inspired me to believe in myself and adopt a healthy eating lifestyle. I hope I can stick to it like I have done with my running.
My starting weight is 14 st 7.8 lb.
My initial weight loss goals are:
- To lose weight and meet my pre-baby weight of 13 st by the 1st September
I did couch to 5k a couple of years ago and, like you, I was amazed to be able to run for 30 minutes: it really gives you confidence to think you can achieve what would have seemed impossible before.
I suggest you set interim goals e.g. firstly getting into the 13s. And time targets can be tricky: I remember setting myself a time to lose a stone and when I "only" lost 13 lbs I was disappointed instead of being chuffed with what I'd done.
You'll find lots of information here, and different eating plans: my main tip would be open to new ideas and to questioning some of the standard advice that has seen such a rise in obesity over the past few decades. Here's something that might interest you fatismyfriend.co.uk/
PS I suggest you lock your post - i.e. make it only available to forum members - as you've given your name and have included a profile photo
