And I’ve had another thyroid function test today for which the results should be back tomorrow. My ultrasound scan showed

C Reactive Protein
Hi everyone. I’m really struggling with pain and stiffness at the moment. On my last blood test my C Reactive protein was 5.9 (range <5.0). Is this just a response to the autoimmune condition?

Focal Therapy?
Thanks so much to those of you who shared your stories and advice. I had good news is that my MRI indicated that the cancer is contained to my prostate, though it is quite enlarged. The bone scan showed some abnormality in the upper part of the spine, so I am scheduled for an MRI of that area this Thursday

Proton beam vs. x-ray therapy
I posted the following message in the Advanced Prostate Cancer group, but I think it is of even more interest to patients who are newly diagnosed and not yet treated, so I'm posting it again here. -------------------------------------------------------------- I was lucky enough to be recommended by Darryl

Proton beam vs. x-ray therapy
I was lucky enough to be recommended by Darryl and Malecare (thank you for that) to participate as a "consumer reviewer" for the "Department of Defense, Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs, Prostate Cancer Research Program". There were about 15 scientists, mainly professors of medicine

Should I consider Proton Therapy
I am 75 and otherwise in good shape, I had Radical Prostatectomy in 2015 now 2 years and 3 months later my PSA has been rising, presently on Hormone meds (Casodex) to reduce PSA then should I go with Radiation or the much greater expense (for lodging etc) and have Proton-therapy 350 miles away? Comments

I'm here looking for encouragement and knowledge My dad has prostate cancer, he was diagnosed in 2011, They told him since day one he did not have many options because his cancer was extremely aggressive. We looked alternative treatments and we found immunotherapy. He is still doing that and he did HIFU

New To The Site
Hello, I am new to the site. I am a 46 year old Canadian male who is in otherwise good health. In April of this year, I was walking my dog and I tripped over a piece of wood protruding from the ground. I ended up with a splinter in my right shin. I removed the splinter, dressed the wound, applied

What to say to the Doctor
Following advice on here I have an appointment with my Doctor on Thursday to discuss my health. Consensus of opinion on here was that I needed an increase in my Levothyroxine, that my Ferritin was low, Vit D was low. I have a horrid feeling this is going to be a battle so could anyone give me pointers
