Unsupported by school who refuse to acknowledge FASD as a "real problem"
Hi. I'm new to this forum so I hope I get this right. I have an adopted daughter, been with us for 6.5 years (now age 7.5) with FASD (diagnosed). I am a single parent. I moved my daughter to a brand-new school in September 2013 as her then primary school was useless. This new school promised great

Being physically with my family hasn't appeared to help depression at all...

After hearing about Susan Boyle and her diagnosis of Aspergers Syndrome.....
I was talking to my mother about this and she expressed the opinion that she always thought I fitted the Aspergers/Autism description, that is as well as the mental health problems I have. So I did a couple of online Autism Tests, and both came back with results in the 40's, which could be an indicator

I would love to know how I go about getting compensation for my sons ruined life. He is 23 and just got a diagnosis of Autism.
My son was under the care of the hospital from 6 weeks old. He had behavioural problems from an early age. My GP had sent a request for a ADHD assessment which never happened. He was finally told he had ADHD at 12 all though CAMS disputed this and re-tested him just to find the same results. He was thrown

My body responds differently to different brands of thyroid hormone.
Now I've borrowed some pills from my friend in place of Eltroxin and I've swelled up (with

I presume)! I'm usually slim so it's v noticeable to me and nothing to do with my monthly cycle. What's going on? Is there some difference in the way the hormone is produced?

I take two to five minutes to initiate urination. If I am mentally distressed then I take much longer to initiate urination.
I have been operated upon by TURP for removal of enlarged prostate 10 and 12 years back twice. I was advised to take Urimax- D at bed time 5 months back which is of some help.Should I continue with this medicine for ever or reduce/stop its usage and when?

Did anyone see last night`s programme on children in care?
I watched a programme on tv last night, I forget what channel it was on. It was called "disabled & disowned" It was mainly about the care system in the past, & there were interviews with people who`d been treated appallingly by the system. There was one woman who talked about how she was drugged senseless
