Seronegative celiac disease
I had a meeting with my GI today and she says everything points to celiac. But I negative for celiac and I have had many tests for it. I do carry one genetic variant for celiac. My grandmother had celiac and my father has two variants, is undiagnosed but is mostly gluten free simply by not liking gluten

Video : How One Disease Changed What We Know About Medicine - Twice
This video (7 mins 21 secs) is about the discovery of vitamin D and its connection with rickets, and how this then turned into discoveries about the connection with calcium and then it starts getting a bit more complicated... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yL31wtijV4Q Since vitamin D gets mentioned

ferritin and Levo dose
Guidance please. GP did a blood test including iron as was feeling tired, cold and shaky. Currently on 100 Levo. I never have changed brand and always do a test 9am without medication within 24 hrs beforehand etc. These are results ; no t3 tested for some reason but historically has always been in range

Vitamin D level
Hello, I am in the UK and the reference range here is 30 to 50 nmol/L as being adequate and above 50 as sufficient. I started 2 years ago at 30 and managed to raise my level. Have been on Evenity for 2 and half months and the Vitamin D is showing at 112. I keep reading that it can be too high over

Am I being stupid by delaying treatment for mild hyperthyroidism when I don't have any symptons?
I am 72 years old and following on from a diagnosis of thrombosis in my legs in 2021, for which I am taking 10mg of rivaroxaban, the Doctors at my local Surgery arranged for me to have blood tests which indicated hyperthyrodism. It was recommended that I should take daily 5mg of carbimazole but as

Advice on blood results please- why no improvement in T3?
hi everyone, advice welcome for my recent Medichecks test please. I introduced 6.5mcg of T3 in September and took my levo down to 75/100 on alternate days, I hoped this would increase my % of T3 as I am a poor converter and have two copies of faulty DIO2 gene. I also hoped this increase in T3 would

Another test with different results
I posted this in reply to myself....um probably not the best place! So am re posting as a fresh post. I wondered if there was anything else I should be doing whilst struggling with my GP. My GP explained that FT3 and FT4 didn’t matter, that doing blood tests could suggest problems which aren’t really

SLE Lupus and supplements
Hi, just wondering what supplements people take when have SLE Lupus? Because of the affects on my liver and kidneys, I am taking the following: fish oil, Vitamin D, Womens multi vitamin, MSM, milk thistle. Just curious in what everyone is using? I feel its helping a bit when comes to energy. Taking

Is This TSH Level OK?
Hi, I'm asking on behalf of an adult female relative. She's recently getting fatigued, putting on weight and has lost motivation, she feels burnt out. She's been going through a stressful time in her life and is late 40's so this could be down to peri-menopause and stress. Her GP didn't test ferritin

Latest Blood Test Results
Good morning all. I have an endo appt this Thursday and am trying to prepare myself as I am worried my dosage of Levo might be reduced. I am concerned that T3 conversion needs improvement as I still don't feel 'good' but because my TSH is at the bottom of the range my endo may ignore my concern. I can't

Vitamin B complex
Hello I am hypothyroid, take 75 or 100mcg levothyroxine daily. I started out a couple of years ago with some vitamin tests that showed low vitamin D & low folate. I supplemented with D3/K2 & methyl folate & felt well. I would occasionally use the Better You B12 spray for good measure. This week I switched

Recently diagnosed - help request to understand test results
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in February and prescribed Levothyroxine 50mg per day. My February blood tests resulted in a diagnosis of Hashimoto's Disease and an increase to 100mg per day. My GP told me that my latest test results (18.04.23) show that my thyroid is normal and I'm negative for

Persistent bowel infection
Dear all, A while since I have written. I was struggling for a year or two with colon pain and seemingly uncontrollable IBS-D. I had a colonic MRI scan done which found I had diverticulosis (side-pockets on the colon). I did not have all the symptoms of diverticulitis (inflammation of the pockets

Positive Reticulin Antibodies Test
Hi All. Thank you for adding me to your forum. I've also posted this on the Gluten Free Guerrillas forum, as I'd appreciate any help or insights. I've been on a bit of a health journey this last few years, with very unhelpful GP's. I had lots of symptoms of fatigue, brain fog, aches, numbness and tingling

B12, folate
In January, I managed to get B12 included in the blood tests (only by getting the nurse to write it down on the form at the time of the test). Level came back at 404 (range 197 to 771). I didn't know at the time to ask for ferritin and folate to be tested. GP put me on cyanocobalamin tablets, 50mcg
