Hi all,

These are my first home testing results done through Blue Horizon with finger prick(s)...3 in all, as I struggled getting the blood...until the last one πŸ™„...even when following the instructions to the letter, along with the protocol advised on here and I'm an ex-nurse! πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Also, as you'll see, some of the tests (Ferritin, Cortisol & Serum Folate) need repeating due to haemolysis: BH said it could have been down to the collection or the longer than usual time in transit (or both?!): I got them to a local PO before the cut off time on Monday afternoon so that I could get a receipt and track them myself; they would appear to have been left at the PO until next morning; & then didn't arrive in the BH lab until just after mid-day on Wednesday πŸ™ So, here they are....

CRP 2.31 <5.0 mg/L

Ferritin Haemolysed 13 - 150 ug/L

Magnesium H 1.04 0.66 - 0.99 mmol/L

Hormones

Cortisol (Random) Haemolysed 6am - 10am 166 - 507 nmol/L

4pm - 8pm 73.8 - 291

Thyroid Function

TSH 3.06 0.27 - 4.20 mU/L New range & unit

T4 Total 135.0 66 - 181 nmol/L

Free T4 17.5 12.0 - 22.0 pmol/L

Free T3 5.03 3.1 - 6.8 pmol/L New range

Immunology

Anti-Thyroidperoxidase abs 22 <34 IU/mL New units

Anti-Thyroglobulin Abs 17 <115 IU/mL New units

Vitamins

Vitamin D (25 OH) 77 Optimal 75-200 nmol/L New range

Adequate 50-<75

Insufficient 25 -<50

Deficient <25

Vitamin B12 246 145 - 569 pmol/L

Serum Folate Haemolysed 8.83 - 60.8 nmol/L

All thoughts and comments would be very much appreciated - tia πŸ™‚

B12 is far too low

Obviously you need ferritin, folate and cortisol retested

You could pay extra on new kit for BH private blood draw at clinic near you, or private nurse to your own home…..for an extra fee

It’s a different kit for private blood draw

Thank you so much for your reply SlowDragon - much appreciated. Is there a way to get the ones needing repeating (and maybe some others like FBC & Bone Profile, maybe DIO2 I think it is & DHEA) without getting the others re-tested - through either BH and/or other/a mix of labs?

Also, what do you make of the high Magnesium - what does it mean? - and the TFT's & Vit D, please?

I hear you re the B12 & was expecting it, even though I've been on a supplement until recently (probably not the right one), as I'm pretty certain I have absorption problems/leaky gut & have had for years. The ferritin & folate once repeated should give a fuller picture there - yes? And, yeh, definitely someone doing a blood draw next time...worth the extra/less hassle! πŸ™‚

Sorry, for all the questions: just trying to work the best way forward following this last post

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

& not having any of my recent results from my GP (yet...as they're being positively obstructive++ ☹️ though I am working on that) to compare them with.

Thanks again for your reply SD πŸ™‚

Blue Horizon should send a replacement kit for free

Avoid posting in very hot weather and/or take to delivery office rather than a hot post box

Suggest you wait to see what ferritin level is before spending cash on an iron panel test (Medichecks only)

Similarly wait for BH cortisol test before ordering Regenerus cortisol and DHEA test

regeneruslabs.com/products/...

portal-app.inspira-regeneru...

Regenerus also do Dio2 test - but again possibly not relevant yet

Are you currently on any replacement thyroid Hormones or still on Carbimazole?
