hi everyone I am new here and have found your posts super useful.
I am still on the wobble whether to even start IVF at all as I know myself I am the personality of if I start it I’ll likely not want to get off it until 6 cycles which would be hugely devastating going through all the let downs !
we already had tests done abroad and found my AMH is low (I am 41) and husband’s morphology is 0% although I’m not convinced that’s consistent.
I am on prenatals, Ubiquinol, Vit D, Vit E, and will get hubby on Proceive Max
I still undecided now between Kings or Create in London to actually start off. I know Create would do the natural modified IVFs for my age range and low AMH but should I actually explore a conventional IVF first at Kings for my first try? The reason I am looking at a Kings is that they seem to have the highest success stats on HFEA for age 40-42.
Would anyone kindly be able to help me with their experiences of either these two clinics? Would you mind sharing what it cost you in total? At this point I will likely chicken out just due to decision overwhelm and fear. Thank you

Hi Rareplant, I won’t comment on the clinics themselves, but am replying as am in the same boat as you (same age, similar AMH of 3.2) and faced the same dilemma. In Robert winston’s book on fertility he presents some very pessimistic figures on chances of success with natural IVF at our age - in a Japanese study of over 200 women 40-42 having mild IVF, not one had a baby. So I decided to go for high stims in my first round. I know the odds are against it working but knew I would regret if I didn’t try. I’m currently day 10 of stims, and looks like I’ll only get 3-4 eggs on collection, but that’s more than I would with mild IVF. My way to handle it is that I’m already psychologically ready for plan B if the outcome is really poor. I’ll consider donor eggs rather than get caught in a cycle of IVF, unless this cycle gives some reason for hope, e.g. I actually get a couple of embryos. Although you get wonderful stories of success, the actual chances with my age and AMH are extremely low and I need to be realistic about that. Maybe you need to have a plan B already in your plan before you start to avoid getting hooked on repeated cycles?
thank you for your reasoning, that puts it down precisely as I have not ever had a conventional IVF yet so I guess the question really is more about what kind to try first despite suggestive theories that our age benefits better from natural IVF.
What nags at me is I just don’t know how my body reacts to stims yet! Until I actually do it. My instinct right now is to try a round of conventional IVF just to scratch that itch, and be prepared mentally knowing my plan B is to move to another clinic for more natural if my body reacts poorly.
Even this indecision is bad itself 🕰️ I am just in the meantime making myself take supplements until I decide.. Argg
