Voltarol (diclofenac): is this NSAID okay for people with ITP?
Does anyone know whether it's okay for people with ITP to use
voltarol
(diclofenac gel) as a topical application? It's an NSAID, which we're told to avoid because of the effect on platelets, but is enough absorbed through the skin to affect platelet levels?

interesting Xeloda trial
Hi friends, I listened to a presentation summarizing reports from ASCO 2023 related to MBC, and what really interested me was that for Xeloda, a fixed dose taken one week on/one week off, produced as good results as current standard of care with fewer side effects. Also: cream form of Voltaren/diclofenac

Blue Horizon Microbiome Malarkey
My beloved
Voltarol
is doing nothing much. Anyway, Blue Horizon has just sent me this promo email for a microbiome test, which then results in a 35-page personalised bible to help with your gut health.

Update on post re Flare or Muscle Pain
I explained that back pain was affecting my mobility and was given
Voltarol
Emulgel. I've used it four times a day for the last week and I can't feel any improvement, also using paracetamol, which isn't helping either, if anything I'm worse than I was before the flare.

Let Me Take You Through the Streets of London ..
So, armed with
Voltarol
gel, and filled with paracetamol, I headed for London. I was a complete bag of nerves. On Saturday night, I hardly slept a wink, and might as well have been sleeping on a bed of nails.

Swollen Knee
They gave me a prescription for
Voltarol
gel and sent me on to see the physio. The physio basically told me it's arthritis, which I'm not saying it isn't, it could be and I'm due to have a blood test next week. I am 52 so I appreciate it's pretty likely to some extent.

Pregnancy pain relief
My usual go to would be deep heat/
voltarol
/ibuprofen gel but none are able to be used during pregnancy. I've taken paracetamol but that rarely has any effect anyway. I'm not on any medication and I'm incredibly reluctant to take anything stronger so early in pregnancy.

Reduced prednisone again now at 5 in am, 5 in evening, feeling ok
On 3rd day at 5 and 5, right wrist got sore and swollen. Everything else ok but did feel a little wiped out. Today feeling great, wrist swelling going down. Will stay here at 10mg total for a while before another reduction. Still absolutely zero typical PMR pain. Frankly do not know what to make of

OA in hip and right shoulder
I've tried Voltaren, Duloxetine ( which did not stop the pain) Aleve, Tylenol, shot in the hip. I really don't want surgery, I'm 69. I even tried castor oil poultice.Id like just like to manage pain at night so I can sleep.... During the day when I'm up I can deal but nights are the worst.

In hospice now
Hello ladies. Just want to let you know I am in hospice now. My gall bladder became infected and The hospital docs put me on all manner of antibiotics. They implanted a tube in my gallbladder to drain off any infection. I flush it twice a day and it will stay in me until the end— only a minor annoyance

Carvedilol and feet pain
Has anyone experienced nocturnal pain in the feet while taking Carvedilol? I’ve been taking it 2x day for 9 months and had only weight gain. Now the foot pain is disturbing my sleep and only Voltaren helps. Anyone have any similar side effects and what did you do to relieve the pain?

Different symptoms on reducing
Paracetamol and
voltarol
gel do not help. Right elbow and right thumb are particularly bad, but I am right handed and have taken up bowls very competitively in the last year.
