Blue Horizon Microbiome Malarkey

So here I am waiting for the results of an XRay on my knee and clutching at straws and doobies to not feel overwhelmed by the freaking pain I'm in. My beloved Voltarol is doing nothing much.

Anyway, Blue Horizon has just sent me this promo email for a microbiome test, which then results in a 35-page personalised bible to help with your gut health. This seems remarkably good value for money when compared with some food sensitivity tests, once I'd taken a ton off, which was the other thing BH's email included.

If you plan to spaff £199 on this, you may need to get your roller disco boots on. Add GUTHEALTH as your discount code here cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0...

If I come back being allergic to alcohol of course, all bets are off 🥂🥤🍹🍸

JUst saying but I'm not sure how good this test would be for food sensitivities. It says it looks at lactose and gluten intolerance but no clue if that would be accurate. It would give you a good idea about how healthy your gut is with different balances of good and bad bacteria.

Oh 😯 I will check it out. I want to do a food test panel actually.

It does sound interesting. I got the same email—I bet many of us did.

The thing is though, having received my 35 page personalised bible, would I want to follow it? :D

What’s the betting it would be a “zero joy” menu? I think I already know I should eat fewer simple carbs and way more vegetables. The vegetables thing is getting more problematic by the day—I never did like turnips.

How’s the knee today?

Today the knee is good, Jazzw, and I am walking like a normal person instead of Lurch the butler mode, which is the alternative... Must be the walking up and down the bedroom, clutching the footboard and mantelpiece in my new shoes....thanks for caring 😘

I think joyless for me would mean that they call me up and say, Rapunzel what the freak is this you've sent us? You can never imbibe vino, gin or your home-made piña colada (pineapple juice, vanilla ice cream, big slug of malibu...shake in a protein shaker {only thing they're good for, innit] pour and top up with Aldi Pineapple cube fizzy nonsense) or anything that says 'chocolate' on it, ever again!

Taxi! Airport! Dignitas!

Never going to happen, tho. I want some insight into which is better for me...asparagus or spinach...and can I really not have broccoli? It's my favourite, damn it. 😂

You can have my Broccoli Rapunzel . Sorry to hear you have a bad knee, hope it improves soon. I have knee problems too and have given in and let my husband buy me a lovely new stairlift (I don't think! It is too slow to catch a cold), but at least my knees are not so sore now. Think I'll forego the BH Test, as I don't think I could eat much less than I do at present. Have really 'found' an appetite lately too.

I too, got honoured by the email Jazzw

Aw bless nightingale-56 going in a stir fry around about now 🥦 I can't think of stairlifts without thinking of Peter Kaye in Phoenix Nights

youtube.com/watch?v=Kzx3B8N... 😱

Do hope that your stairlift has a separate power supply.

Come and get yer black bin bags, on offer til December youtube.com/watch?v=EfTd1RY... 😅🤣😂

My lovely acupuncture guy thinks my knee is 'compromised' and a fall I took before Christmas has only added to the likely debris swimming around my knee...I note with angst that NICE is not so nice (quelle surprise) and there are now only limited circs in which one can have a knee washout on the NHS. 😝

I like Peter Kay and had not seen that sketch before. The knee that is worse for me, right one, I had operated on about 30 years ago for a torn cruciate ligament. It was noted that Chondro Calcinosis was present (?) at the time, but because it has been getting bad again lately, the other has taken a bit of a battering also. The stairlift has helped an I get times when I go to walk up the stairs, then suddenly remember. They don't seem to want to do anything lately, although have just had good treatment from the Hand Trauma Unit of local hospital (Broomfield, Chelmsford) for a broken finger (slight fall when slipping on, what I think was a spot of magnesium oil. A case of putting one thing right and causing another). Hope you get a knee washout soon.

Thanks, nightingale. I full well know that if my knee ( my right is worse and it's my leading leg) dosen't get any better, that's the next step. Then, I might have to stop work😩 and then, I don't want to think beyond that...😞Appreciating it's early days with your stairlift, do you think it's helping?

Peter Kay...don't ya just love him?

I do love Peter Kay, especially in skits like that. My problem knee is the right one also. When I had it operated on, the Surgeon gave me a copy of the video he took at the time. I started watching and thought that he had given me the wrong video. I thought it was of a sheep being shorn, but it was the inside of my knee. It actually looked like a piece of tripe! Don't give the thought of giving up work a second thought. Once my knee had been done, it was good for quite a few more years after physio for about 10 months. I had it done in 1981 and really it has only been bad again since lockdown. I do think the stairlift is working in the pain department, because of the lack of pressure on knees while climbing stairs. Will be interesting to see if my CRP has gone down!

Did you got your results back? How was it?

My x ray shows moderate degeneration according to Dr Buffoon's notes on my online records but I'm seeing Dr Lovely on Friday and she may think differently.

I have the microbione test at the ready but have waited for a Monday to send it, so about to send off. It takes 4-6 weeks so don't hold your breath. 😉

Oh, I see. Haha I might as well buy it too. I am having my first appointment with a functional medicine practitioner from my country Peru. I am more than excited!

I looked at the document you shared with us again. It is so complete, actually. They mention all the foods and the gut, parasites, everything. I am ordering it 😌 it feels really good to me.

Hi, wondering if you could help me.I ordered my test and activated the kit online. but no confirmation of it by email. I keep asking in their customer services chat, they said they will email me but nothing.

I got the test ready and no idea to sent it or not. 🤔
