DEXA and Leaky Bowels
Two questions for my knowledgeable chums. I was diagnosed in November 2023 and after a battle with my GP managed to get a DEXA scan in early April. Results are that this 75 year old has the typical bone density profile of a 30 year old. Yay! Is it reasonable to push for another scan after 6 months

Hyperthyroid To Hypothyroid??
To give a bit of back story, I first saw my GP for suspected thyroid issue in Jan 2021 at that time I was told my blood results were normal but I was Vit D deficient which was the explanation for my symptoms. Even though I felt fobbed off I took the findings for what they were as the GP is the expert

I keep changing dose, feeling better, then having a flare-up of mysterious symptoms, then feeling worse again.
Supplements I take:
- Vitamin B complex (stopped taking it 6 days before the test because it contains biotin) - Iron -
Vitamin
D
- Selenium - Magnesium - Omega-3 - Melatonin and valerian pills to sleep I always wait one hour after taking my levo before having breakfast, I take iron alone

Elbow Bursitis
Now that I have been on T3 Liothyronine for a few weeks some symptoms are improving. I was feeling much less stiff, and muscle pain had improved. Unfortunately I have now developed what I think is an elbow bursitis. When I read about it most articles say you are at higher risk with Thyroid disease. Currently

Reducing to 25mcg Levo only
Hi all. Just wondered if anyone has ended up on 25 mcg Levo only (no T3 or NDT) as an ongoing, not starter dose? Just had my bloods back (below) and my TSH remains low and T3 high despite dropping from 75 to 50 Levo 3 months ago. TSH .01 ( .3 - 4.2 ) T4 15 ( 9 - 19 ) T3 5.9 ( 3 - 5.4 ) GP

hypothyroidism and peripheral neuropathy
I am hoping that getting my dosage right and my T4 and T3 levels up towards the top of the range along with Methyl B Complex and
Vitamin
D
supplementation may alleviate the neuropathy. The spinal stenosis of course will remain.

PMR, steroids and osteopenia.
Firstly thank you to everyone who has replied to my latest post, what an amazing community you all are! It really helps to know I am not alone, so many questions about PMR and steroids, so much to learn. I now feel that if I get the chance to talk to a doctor I can at least hold my own to some extent

Virus anxiety
I was doing good with my supplement routine (
vitamin
d
, theanine, magnesium glycninate and b complex) but I think I’ll try Effexor. It’s been a year now of suffering from anxiety since that virus. Sometimes I’m so overwhelmed with helplessness since I try everything to feel better.
