Ovaries not responding

Hi Everyone, came on here as in pieces and not sure where to turn anymore. 43, AMH 1.2pmol, blocked left tube. Just back from day 12 scan and ovaries are not responding. They did an oestradiol test to check levels and will contact me later as to whether the cycle should be cancelled or I continue for another 12 days.. my day 8 scan had 2 follicles on the left size 8&10. But nothing has come of these. Was on 375 meriofert. Too much stimulation at my age? On lots of supplements, ubquionol, vit E, vit D, herology supplement drink and a good diet. My first round of ivf in May only got me 1 egg which didn't fertilise. Since then my FSH has shot through the roof, I'm wondering if meds from first cycle has thrown everything off. Or am I just old?

Has anyone experienced this? Not sure whether to give up or keep fighting

H❤️

Hi. Perhaps a milder form of. IVF. Do you need all those supplements, see what your specialist says.. Maybe time for using an egg donor if you have such a high FSH. Hope all is soon sorted for you. Diane

Thanks for your message DianeArnold. I asked for mild stimulation before this 2nd round started and they said they don't do mild. I believe mild woyld be better for me too. I started this round on 300 and 2 follicles were coming along nicely and since the last scan I was up to 375 and nothing has come from them. I'm not sure I could get my head around egg donation. I might move clinic and see if any better advice for 1 final round💔. Hxx

I’m really sorry, sounds so stressful and frustrating. I hope that your clinic can give some insights though I never found ours to be that useful… it’s such a tough process and there is so much that is unknown

Wishing for better luck for you

Thank you. Still awaiting an update. I feelbthey just throw meds at us in a hope something will work instead of doing individualised testing for ppl and changing it up depending on circumstances💔. Hope your journey is going OK xx

Hi there.Currently in the same boat in the case of I don't know if cycle is going to be cancelled.First scan after 5 days showed one MASSIVE follicle and 3 very small ones.Thought cycle would be cancelled but told to go for nxt scan.Hoping the massive follicle will have ruptured and the others will have grown. The dominat follicle literally sucked up all the meds.x

My cycle has been cancelled. Told to get bloods done during next day 3 to see where things are at. Shocked they didn't check bloods before round 2.

Hi HelesBeles - am sorry to hear your cycle cancelled. I don't suppose you've been ill recently? I had a physiological response to COVID in May which impacted my fertility system and resulted in abandoned cycles in June and July. It apparently happens with flu as well. The other thing am just about to try myself is Maca which apparently can positively influence your FSH, Estrogen, etc more naturally. Mines been going all over the place - either due to stress from failed rounds, or stims etc so am going to try to reset with this herbal supplement from Femmenessence (quite expensive to get in the UK but works according to this scientific paper: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl.... Good luck going forward xx

Hi Rubylou, thank you for message. No havent been sick recently. Although I think I had covid in July. This cycle started in August, but maybe a knock on effect. There is no doubt that my hormones are all over the place after 2 rounds. They say all the stims are out of body after 39 days, but I don't believe that. I'm sure some are lingering. I've seen some advertisements about maca but didn't look into it any further as thought where does all these suppleand drinks end. But thank you for sending that link, seems to be a good herbal supplement. Maybe worth a try. Best of luck to you too going forward. Hxx
