Woo hoo I've finally smashed it!
Set off at 7am, still 18C, can you believe it? I told myself this was just another run and if it was too warm to go the distance, well the graduation run would still be there for another day. A few minutes in and I've hit my happy pace. My music was calming overlaid by beautiful birdsong. Then the 15

US doctor discusses ways to prevent PD
US doctor discusses ways to prevent PD. The estimate is 15% of PwP have a genetic cause and 85% is from environmental exposure to chemicals. Some have been discussed here. I don't think TCE has been. It was used in dry cleaning and semiconductor processing, but for many years now the US and Japan

Pegasys Injection Help
Anyone use insulin needles to inject Pegasys? It appears to be exactly the same other than it says "units" where my prescription calls out "mls". However they both measure out the same. .25ml = 25units Thanks!

DVLA licence renewal
Two years ago I had to inform the DVLA that I had developed glaucoma in both eyes. It was a very stressful time as I had a trabeculectomy, corrective surgery and cataract removal before embarking on the vision test. The Specsavers team was very helpful in deferring my test until I felt ready to take

adult son with PTSD
My son is 28 and suffered sexual abuse at the age of 4, at the hands of his cousin who was 13 at the time. I didn’t find out about it until my son was 13. By then I was a single parent. I didn’t know what to do. Now, because I didn’t do the right thing then apparently, I am being blamed for my son -

I should be happy right now but I'm not
So I've struggled with major depressive disorder since 17 now I'm 28 yrs old. I've finally achieved getting my first apartment on my own. But in reality I'm a mess between my depression and my PTSD over flashbacks. I was previously married for 8 years to my ex husband. I cant stop going back to when

Does anyone have an update on taking vitB3 niacin? After asking what I could personally do to help with my glaucoma, apart from the obvious healthy eating and regular excercise my consultant wrote down supplements, albeit no strength was mentioned. Not sure how this works but am finding the holidays extra hard.
Trying to stay even in my moods but I'm not looking forward to seeing my parents over the holidays. It's very hard to be around them since I realize I suffer from complex ptsd.

Macular Degeneration and PMR
Hi, Several months ago, my mum was diagnosed with PMR and has been taking Prednisolone (initially 15 mg, now 10 mg after a taper). Unfortunately, her vision is deteriorating rapidly, and she has only partial sight in one eye. She has dry macular degeneration and likely glaucoma too. I want to do everything

Has anyone experienced a trabeculectomy in their only sighted eye? I lost sight in my right eye in 1998 due to a brain haemorrhage. The left eye is a lazy eye but I have 20/20 vision with variafocals. I'm concerned if I take the recommended op I might end up with no sight if there are complications?
