PCOS and health insurance
Hi, I was just diagnosed with PCOS and my biggest issue is no matter how much gym, private trainers and healthy eating I have done, nothing seems to help! I have tried orlistat and had little reaction to it as I do eat fairly lean most of the time and lost no weight on it. My GP has now said the next

Using carbonated drinks to take Sinemet.
When I was recovering from back surgery, spinal fusion to fix sciatica pain I had down both legs, I was introduced to the idea of using ginger ale when I take Sinemet. I was at Medstar Georgetown University hospital and was visited by a doctor and a few students. It seemed to work faster. On top of that

Really struggling since thyroid treatment with being me.
I seem to get everyones back up and have realised I have probably done it again on Seaside suzies post. I think I was much easier to get on with before thyroid treatment as I never had the energy to upset people. Itis not intentional it is just that I think differently to most people and it seems to

Weight for it!
Since the day I quit and up to present, I roughly gained 4-5 kgs. I am now a little over my BMI and am considered overweight for my height. I can feel my knees and ankles hurt due to the weight gain. I have to buy new set of clothes that will fit. I'm now an XL when I used to be just an L. It was hard

Acupuncture
Has anyone had acupuncture for severe back pain? I have had four lumbar spinal fusions, all failed, and now steroid injection has been suggested. I am very against this for many reasons but am a big fan of acupuncture for general health. Has anyone had needles down the spine and on the operation site

Newly diagnosed
Hello, I'm sammi, I'm 40 and I've been diagnosed today as having an underactive thyroid after years of tests. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 26 years ago but a couple of years ago my friend told me to look into thyroid testing as I have 90% of the symptoms, but every test came back negative. I was

Father diagnosed with GCA with extreme vision loss
He was only started on steriods a week after
vision
loss
, as the doctors were still grappling with a diagnosis. Everything that I've read indicates that
vision
loss
due to GCA is irreversible. I'm looking for some hope that someone has had a different, more positive outcome.

Acupuncture for back pain after spinal fusions
Has anyone tried this? Had the spinal needles yesterday and it was marvellous afterwards. Today feel really awful, in pain again and very depressed. The accupuncturist is no charlatan and top class in the profession. Obviously will be needing several sessions and I believe the results are cumulative

Hello. I'm new to the group. I'm a middle-aged male and I'm here to find out everything I can about Anxiety-related conditions, Selective Mutism in particular. My niece has been diagnosed with it. My sister and I suspect that we might have had it as kids.

NASH & Bariatric Surgery
I've just been diagnosed with an advanced case of NASH, right on the cusp of cirrhosis. My doctors all say I should have bariartric surgery as soon as I can. Have any of you out there gotten the same recom-mendation, and if so, what did you decide, and how did it work out? -- afraid of cutting out 85%

Eye test
I was diagnosed with PMR in May this year and then with possible GCA, after seeing a rheumatologist, in August. I developed double vision but my eye tests showed no other problems and the double vision was corrected with prisms in the lenses of my glasses. I'm now finding that my vision is blurred -

Mums Cancer
She had a biopsy the following week, and we were waiting for the hopefully good news when she had stroke like symptoms, double
vision
,
loss
of balance and she became very confused. So a nightmare trip to A&E, 24 hours waiting in a corridor just like you've seen in the news!

Prednisone and Graves’ disease
He wants me to immediately take 40 mg of prednisone, the GCA can cause
vision
loss
and blindness. He scared me so badly I’m afraid to not take it, but what if the symptoms are from hyper thyroid. Sorry to be so unclear I’m just scared. Would the prednisone cause a thyroid storm?

I’ve quit nothing, but gained so much
its with delight, and after oooh so many attempts to quit, I feel quite calm knowing I just don’t smoke, of course and without doubt the very early days, of needing to smoke any time any where, like hanging out of the bed room window, blowing smoke out, for it only to come and smack me back, indeed,
