Bupropion and RLS
Hi! Can I just ask if anyone has been on zyban (bupropion) and it’s helped with their RLS symptoms? And also can you take ropinirol while taking zyban?

Nicotinamide Treatment
A month ago some of you (and me) started to take nicotinamide mononucleotide to halt glaucoma progression and maybe improve vision, as was reported in a trial in Australia. Has anyone as yet seen any difference or improvement? I am not sure if my situation is better but it does feel different with some

A bit of drama on Besremi
(there's a sort of survey question near the end) I've been on it for 3 months now. From starting dose of 50mcg for HU transition my dose last week was ~110. -That evening I had high sensitivity to light, looking at the overhead kitchen light was nearly like looking at the sun. Even the white sink

NAC supp continued
I've been taking it (N-acetyl cysteine) with Dr approval. I tried two short tests last Dec and it seemed to help. My latest test has been going for ~ 2 months and is less obviously successful. At the start in Feb I took 600 mgm while I was still on HU only, at 500. My symptoms got worse (usual malaise

Selenium Metabolism and Biosynthesis of Selenoproteins in the Human Body
A surprisingly readable and potentially helpful review of selenium in humans. (So far, I have only given it a cursory read.) Yes - some bits are difficult but the narrative seems to make sense even if we have to pass over some detail. For those of us in the UK, it is a shame that they did

Mathematical analysis of T4/T3 dosing
This upcoming paper is joined with ours in the same edition of Frontiers.
However, do not judge it on a personal level. It simply shows, against different situations, a general
trend which either supports or does not the use of combined therapy. It indicates optimum dosing

Teva and dry mouth
I’ve written here before about the dry mouth I’ve had since just before Christmas. And about all the many tests and scans I’ve had in that time, all of which drew a blank. Then in March / April I picked up some more Levothyroxine packets from the pharmacist. On that occasion I was served by a particular

Methotrexate and/or Prednisolone side effects? Anyone experiencing tremors with either of these drugs? Unusual hand tremor started in right hand after 3 or 4 weeks of 5mg Prednisolone. When the drug was stopped the tremor stopped. When the drug was re-started for increased symptoms, at a higher dose

Pseudoxanthoma Elasticum
Hi I was wondering if anyone else on here has this condition? It causes macular degeneration which is not age related. I have just had my first eye bleeds at age 51 and there is little information out there about treatment options and outcomes. I would love to hear from any other PiXiEs out there

Trab waiting list and a few questions about Trab and NTG
I posted a month ago about the turn round of my diagnosis from a new doctor. I just had another exam and consultation with two more doctors. They are unanimous about the necessity of a trab, and very quickly. -otherwise, blindness, they spelled out. The doctor said my optic nerves are thin and in bad

Steroid eye drops
Do most people with glaucoma that have a cataract operation have their steroid eye drops tapered off after using them four times a day for two weeks.I am really worried as I have been told by the consultant not to do this to carry on four times a day for another two weeks . I would be very grateful to

I previously reported some eye issues in early March for an epiretinal membrane surgery (Dec 21 )that was supposed to help my vision be clearer, but it worsened. In March 22eye surgeon said surgery well healed, "brain not talking to eyes" and suggested immediate visit with neuro. MRi finally done April

Overlapping Hydroxycarbamide with Pegasys
I’m 57, living in the USA, and have CalR mutated ET. I took hydoxycarbamide for 8 years at an average of 750 mg per day which kept the platelet count to between 850-950,000. I was happy with that because I didn’t notice any side effects. Then, about 18 months ago, the hydoxycarbamide became less effective

Problems with laboratory test results - how to complain
In the past few weeks we have had several posts which have suggested that some laboratory test results have been inconsistent. Some have suggested two laboratories are inconsistent with each other. Others have suggested that one laboratory is inconsistent with itself. (Obviously, if it is inconsistent
