No improvement with Levothyroxine increase
I have Haemochromatosis (iron overload for which I am now on maintenance;
venesection
every three months). I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism Jan 22 after I decided to take a private thyroid test. I told my Surgery and they put me on 50 Levo.

Main differences in blood tests results for ET and PV diagnosis?
My HCT levels were around 0.44 at diagnosis and one At 0.46 resulted in a
venesection
, the last one was 0.43. Hb is usually around 140g/l, RBC around 4.5, and RBCDW around 14%. I haven’t had a BMB.

if ferritin wanders north a bit.

First venesection - symptom query
I had this a lot pre
venesection
and just wanted some blood out to see if it helped. Just wondering, have any of you noticed some old symptoms exacerbated after
venesection
or is it just coincidence?

Slight hand tremor
Her last
venesection
was last Wednesday (19/10) she has since developed a slight hand tremor. It’s not constant and only in her left hand. Has anyone experienced this? As she’s newly diagnosed PV and only after a BMB last week we’re still coming to terms with everything. thanks in advance

North Tees Hospital Stockton
Is anyone in the group under the care of the Haematology Unit at North Tees in Stockton? If so, what is your experience of the care you receive? I'm currently under James Cook UH in Middlesbrough, but they seem very under staffed and under resourced - they had run out of blood bags used for venesections

Post SCT haematomachrosis
My now 6 monthly bloods done last year revealed high ferritin. I subsequently had 6 venesections, 1 a month. My follow up, delayed by COVID, revealed a still high ferritin at 2000, down from around 3000. The consultant was a bit surprised it was still that high. I was a bit disappointed and concerned

Hydroxy Blood Numbers Experiences
Hi, I was diagnosed with PV in February this year. Started venesections and aspirin straight away. I have just started on HU and wondered if anyone can share their experiences of what to expect. I had bloods checked this week after being on HU for just over 3 weeks. My HCT is now 42, Hb 12.8
