Update on my treatment plan and Turmeric Shot
She said I don't need a
venesection
at this time and that my bloods are ok and not rising so the peg must be working and preventing an increase and to continue with the plan for another 6 weeks . I asked for my lab reports and she said they will be sent to the GP .

Third clinic visit, third different consultant
Also said didn't need another
venesection
as I was at my target level (0.45), but could have one if I wanted it. Third visit this week and I had another junior consultant who is working under the one who I saw at the end of last year.

At my haematologist appointment last week she said looks like too much blood was taken in my Nov
venesection

Iron regulation offers new treatment hope for incurable blood cancer
The cancer is currently treated with
venesection
, where about 500mL of blood is taken from a patient multiple times a month, to rapidly reduce their red cell count and blood thickness.

Hydroxycarbimide to Ruxolitinib - 4 weeks on....
I had a
venesection
booked for day 7, HCT was just on target at 45, so it seemed rude not to go ahead. with hindsight, probably not a good idea - HCT dropped to 41 by day nine, the lowest by far in nine years. Stopped Hydroxy on day 17. HCT stayed stable at 41-42.

Update 7.3 Good news this time
Concurred that it was time for a
venesection
- the first in several years. I had hoped to try a mini-phlebotomy, which the care team supported. Unfortunately, none of the local phlebotomy providers would do it. I opted for a full 500ml
venesection
. It was fine and not a problem.

Update 7.2
We discussed the two options of increasing Besremi or doing a
venesection
. Due to the LFT elevation, increasing the Besremi dose could be problematic. We decided to opt for a
venesection
at this point in time.

No improvement with Levothyroxine increase
I have Haemochromatosis (iron overload for which I am now on maintenance;
venesection
every three months). I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism Jan 22 after I decided to take a private thyroid test. I told my Surgery and they put me on 50 Levo.

Main differences in blood tests results for ET and PV diagnosis?
My HCT levels were around 0.44 at diagnosis and one At 0.46 resulted in a
venesection
, the last one was 0.43. Hb is usually around 140g/l, RBC around 4.5, and RBCDW around 14%. I haven’t had a BMB.
