So I had to change my rheumy appointment as I had to have an operation. It turns out I have breast cancer, and with my huge family history of breast cancer plus the type of cancer they've found in me, the surgeon is recommending a preventative bilateral mastectomy. I hope I look as good as Angelina Jolie

Shikha's Story - Part II
Starting from where I left.... I started chemotherapy first week of April, 2008. My hair was shorter by choice to avoid the shock of losing it all at once. I have no idea of the emotions that my mom would have gone through, those of my husband, my 2 year old. The focus is at me. We read and read

Adenomyosis ? Awaiting 4th Decapeptyl injection and hopefully an hysterectomy.
I had to ask how my husbands
vasectomy
was going to help me with my heavy painful periods and other dehabilitating symptoms. I told him I wanted a laparoscopy and he asked me whether I had had one yet. At which point I suggested he familiarise myself with my notes in front of him.

Anger and anxiety
I recently lost my sister for breast cancer. She was only 32 years old. We found out that there is a gene that runs in the family and my other sisters have it. They had to undertake a double mastectomy as a preventive measure. I am the older and the only one that does not have the gene. I am struggling

Why are people with Breast Cancer stigmatized?
Hi, I am a breast cancer survivor and I am not shameful or shy about sharing that. I got diagnosed at the age of 28 and it was a hard path to tread on. But, what is even harder is when you are forced not to disclose the fact that you have breast cancer, or that you had breast cancer; because many people
