Irregular platelets in PD
I have just enrolled Laurie Mischley's online Parkinson's School, and to say I'm finding it enlightening is an understatement. Importantly, it's prompted me to have my B12 (and various other) blood levels tested again for the first time since 2017. The bloods results show various low and high results

HELP⁉️❓🆘
I could really use some help with shopping & preparing CKD specific meals. However I'm having quite the dilemma right now. One problem is I'm low income, & have 🫰 benefits, so I have limits on what I can spend, which also means no mail delivery pre packaged meals, & I may be wrong, but I've noticed

Can anyone remind me of how long I need to stop biotin before a blood draw please? I have upcoming tests for thyroid levels, calcium, coeliac antibodies and cortisol. Thanks!

My brother will go for his second treatment on June 19th. Spoke to the PA yesterday. She said he’ll now get 80% dosage instead of 100%, because they’ve found out it has the same effect. Anyone else hear about this? All labs are good….PSA down from 250 to 215, hemoglobin is at 8.5, calcium is slightly

Has anyone had problems with teeth and jaw pain when on prednisolone? Is so what advice can you give. My teeth have been no bother the last ten years. They are very old. Then when pmf hit , possibly as long as 8 months or more ago,, began to have jaw pain and trouble chewing. Started pred in November

Myoglobin
I think i over done my muscles on left side from the waist down, did far too much walking and walking on uneven surfaces and diving in sand dunes while on uk holiday. I came home and 4 days later it looked like my urine had turned into ribena, doctors diagnoised myoglobin and said its caused from damaged

waiting for the result of a 24 urine test as possible hypercalcaemia
I am waiting for the result of a 24 hour urine test. I have previously had above the normal range calcium tests. This has been going on for about a year. I’m guessing that the culprit is lithium but I’m wondering whether steroids can cause this ?

My Story
H Everyone, I have been following along for some time, but have never really told my story. I’m in the U.S., in California, and belong to a few inline PMR support groups, but yours is by far the best I have found. I am a 65-year old female of northern European descent. Prior to PMR, I felt I was

meds and arrhythmia
hello to you all I have recently been prescribed chewable calcium and vit D3 tablets which I take twice a day. I started them yesterday and within an hour my heart was all over the place. One minute my pulse/heart rate was 46 and then it went up to 100. I felt out of sorts and wondered if it was coincidental

SOY ISOFLAVONES
Has anyone had any positive affects from taking soy isoflavones or other isoflavones for bone density? I see much research that shows Dairy products, especially milk actually makes your bone density worse due to the effects of acid factors of it. That we actually do not need dairy as adults and should

I have just been diagnosed with Osteoporosis T -2.9 in hips and spine at 64 years old. Dr prescribed biophosphates as my risk of fracture is high (statistically in paper). The thought of having drugs with side effects makes me run a mile and so I started my research that brought me here. I was prepared

6 month transplant anniversary!!! Whoo hoo
Today is the 6-month anniversary of my kidney transplant. All continues to go very well with the exception of low white blood cell count. This has improved some but still comes in between 3.0 and 3.75 with 4.0 being the bottom of the normal range. Inspite of my low WBC count and pulling of bactrim 7

Constipation, Osteopaenia and Calcium
Hi, I have had osteopaenia for years, currently taking Calcium, magnesuim bisglycinate, D3, Vit K2 (natto), Boron. I also suffer from chronic constipation and wonder if the calcium I am taking as well as that in my diet (cheeses) is aggravating the problem. Some days my back is so painful from straining

Please give me strength.....
I feel as if I am dealing with complete and utter idiots. I have been waiting well over a year to be seen in gastrollogy. One of the consultants refered me back to my heamatologist and then knocked me off the wretched list ! I then had to go through the ordeal of being reinstated to be seen by a gastrologist
