I just received my printouts of a full blood work up (date 16th may) which includes a FBC I noticed a number of tests weren't included.. for instanceNo B12, foliate, magnesium, calcium, zinc, potassium, cholesterol, or parathyroid hormone( which after our discussion on my calcium and parathyroid hormone levels being out of range, and now at the top end of normal the gp said she would test these) 😠

What are the tests I should be having for vits/minerals when on thyroid hormone replacement?

Other tests that were done:

Ferritin.... 66...range (23.00...400.00) satisfactory /normal

eGFRcreat.. 63..range (90.00..120.00)satisfactory /normal

Serum sodium.. 140..range (133.00..146.00)satisfactory /normal

Total white cell count.. 4.7..range (4.00..11.00

Gliadin antibody measurement (AMI).. Anti-tTG.. (NR <10).. 0.7 U/mL

IgA..(NR - see below.. 1.24 g/L

My vit D done on may 2nd was 39..range.. 50.00...150.00

Vitamin D insufficiency consultation with clinician next 2/3wks

Monitoring vitamin D replacement not routinely necessary.

See local guidelines

Just so angry that the actual things I wanted tested haven't been 😠😠

Many years ago my doctor used to tell me she was going to do "full bloods". It was only when I got a copy of my medical records that I realised she usually meant a Full Blood Count and nothing else.

You’re going to need to test privately - but not until been 6-8 weeks on 25mcg T3 every day

Low GFR linked to being hypothyroid/on inadequate dose of replacement thyroid hormone

all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am and day before test split T3 as 10mcg waking, 10mcg mid afternoon and 5mcg at 9pm

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
