Post thyroidectomy.
Am now three weeks past total thyroidectomy and removal of numerous lymph glands. First week on levothyroxine I felt great. The last week I have been sleeping around sixteen hours a day. I could sleep right now! Due to see my surgeon next week for first check up since operation. What should I ask? I've

calcium supplement
Was on 10 mg for 9 months, now down to 7 after a year. Heard of calcium supplement being prescribed for some friends (female). Is that something everyone on steroids should be taking?

Alendronic Acid
I’ve been diagnosed with Osteopenia. About 7 months ago I was given vitamin d and calcium tablets which I am fine with. I was also given Alendronic acid which makes me feel very lethargic for a couple of days after taking. Has anyone else experienced this. I’m virtually at the point of deciding not to

Thyroid question please...
Hi everyone, I am writing to ask if you can have a sore thyroid without significant enlargement and with 'normal' bloods? I have had 'normal' bloods, it doesn't seem visually enlarged, though I feel like I am being strangled and have audible sounds when I swallow in my ears. When I move my head something

Good news - alendronic acid
Hi, I thought I would share some good news. Three years ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and started on alendronic acid with dome reluctance. After a rough first couple of weeks I got used to the medication. I modified my diet a bit, stsrting tsking Vit D and calcium, increased my BMI from 18.2

Eligard and bicalutamide.
Started eligard and bicalutamide post RP in 2018. Followed advice of urologist until 2022. New urologist took me off both after PSA of 0.01. Unfortunately, l did not receive advice about secondary effects of the above drugs-osteoporosis etc. A DEXA scan in 2022 revealed high possibility of bone fractures

Tomorrow I get my Cardiac CT Results
I was hoping that I could reverse my plaque scores but after reading a medical journal, I will now be happy with status quo. This is what it states: Coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG) have been proposed to accelerate native coronary atherosclerosis. In patients with established coronary artery disease

T3 clearing the body
Hello Thanks to all who help on this list. Sorry I can't offer more help, still , it seems, in some post Covid state. I tried to look through past posts to see how long T3 takes to leave the system. I think it was recommended not to take for 8 hours before a blood test. I'm going to get some

problems post SVT ablation
I have managed SVT for 7 years using vagal manoeuvres but decided to agree to an ablation because of increasing frequency of episodes. Prior to ablation I was sometimes having 2 or 3 episodes a week. Episodes were 5 to 10 mins and I could reliably convert. I am in my late sixties. I had an SVT ablation

Anxiety and pain after heart attack and stents
I will be starting anxiety medication this week but Codine/ Panadol and
Valium
seems to ease my pain but I just hope it’s not masking something that could be more serious. All my tests are clear.

zoldronate risk factors?
Hi , risedronate has only worked on my spine and not my hips for the last 2 years. hips at 16% risk, t_score -3.6. albeit I have not been taking enough vit D over the last 2 years. I have upped my vit D now, my calcium intake is fine. Zoledronate has been mentioned but I am wary of the risk of zoldronate

Is it just me?
Wondering if anyone else isn't sold on the concept of taking a sledgehammer to the immune system to treat RRMS. I am looking forward to these meds finishing clinical trials: * Vidofludimus calcium [It's both anti-EBV and neuroprotective effect] (Link: https://multiplesclerosisnewstoday.com
