Pluvicto

My brother will go for his second treatment on June 19th. Spoke to the PA yesterday. She said he’ll now get 80% dosage instead of 100%, because they’ve found out it has the same effect. Anyone else hear about this? All labs are good….PSA down from 250 to 215, hemoglobin is at 8.5, calcium is slightly lower so his Xgeva be held in the month of June, Alk Phosphates were 500, now down to 215….and they’ll recheck a few days before treatment.

I think the 100%, i.e. 6 GBq are too low. You better apply 7.4 or 8 GBq.

It should depend on his tumor load.

in reply toTall_Allen

only bone metastasis no tumors or vital organ invasion.

Why not Xofigo?

in reply toTall_Allen

said only if he had pain. He has never had pain, it’ll be 3 years June 3rd.

He can just say he feels pain.

in reply toTall_Allen

we’ll, I guess he could do that.

They put in the qualifiers (pain, no visceral metastases) into the clinical trial in order to give the clinical trial a better chance at success. But that doesn't mean it works better because of that.

Similarly, they put a qualifier of no Xofigo before Pluvicto to give Pluvicto a better shot at succeeding in its trial. I suspect that Pluvicto+Xofigo would make a great combo for men (like your husband) with multiple bone metastases. They found that Pluvicto was effective after Xofigo:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

And there is a trial in Australia now combining them:

if my dad is currently on his 4th session of pluvecto would he be a candidate for adding r-223? His psa went from 13.65 11/22 to 9.36 5/23 after 4 treatments of Lu-177. He is metastatic and has tumors. Experiences pain

Two years ago his psa was 3,000 when we caught it

Why not try, as long as blood work is good?

Wow that sounds positive. How is he feeling? My husband has his first dose on June 9th.

in reply toKarirudy

he’s feeling great. A few stomach problems the first 3 days, but he’s back to himself now.

I have not heard of giving only 80% dosage. I have had 2 doses at 216.0 mCi each.

What is his dosage? As said, it varies by number of tumors/lesions. My PSA was only 2.0 at the start of the Eclipse Trial and after 2 doses I went to 0.3 after 2 weeks.

in reply tojohn4803

I’m sorry I don’t know what his dosage is. He’s treated at The University of Chicago.

Never heard about 80% is 100%, but I'm open to anything. I just had my 2nd dose May 17. Fatigue and dry mouth are the only side effects. How much am I receiving? Don't care and don't want to know. I'm receiving care in Cleveland University Hospital and the same doctors are with the Cleveland Clinic also. I'm in good hands.

How do you deal with the dry mouth?

Interesting. My guys was a UofC man too and granted managed access to lu177. If 80% is working as effectively as 100% that means less toxicity which seems like good news for many. Best wishes for continued PSA drop!

Hello Jzner, How old is your brother, and your age? Anyone else in the family ever have Pca? Are you checking your PSA?

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
