Teeth can be a real nuisance, can’t they? My dentist of many years recommends Oral-B Pronamel and using a soft toothbrush and flossing before brushing. Have you seen a dental hygienist?
Did you ever have the pain in jaw when chewing investigated? Do you still have that problem (ask a question and in return receive more question!).
I should probably delete all this and start again! Your doctor should prescribe Calcium + vitamin D3 tablets. Each tablet contains the correct amount of each.
Tha nk you 123-go,No I did not mention it before going to the dentist...
By Nov.
My friend eventually had to cut up my food on our weekly jaunts but hands could not hold fork...
Pain everywhere in body
Had pain in jaw down neck a d severe headaches... one side the jaw pain... so couldnt chew. No did not mention to Gp. I told the dentist in April who fortunately knew about pmr.
I just wondered if others onhere were sudden ly troubled by teeth...
And what they did...I guess I must be early the oldest on here but has if affected younger
Next appt is for hygienist and one more for smoothing off rough tooth.
I try all toothpastes... Will try the one you recommend.
I don't think she has! I also know a former PMR patient who recently celebrated her 99th birthday and still uses the internet a lot. Not sure about her tooth status though.
I would get checked out for GCA as Jaw Pain and headaches are classic symptoms. I am sure its not that but better to be sure and your dentist may not pick that up. Better to see your doctor and double check.
What a lovely day you've had! Keep the picture of that sea view in your mind and if/when you are having not too good a day imagine yourself back there. Below is a passage from a book I'm reading:
"In 1987 Doctor Francine Shapiro was walking in her local park when she noticed that the simple process of scanning the landscape ( seascape in your case) made her feel calmer and less anxious." This realisation led to her carrying out years of research which culminated in the development of a therapy involving eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing which helped sufferers of PTSD.
Good luck with the very expensive toothpaste 😳. Let us know how things go.
Using toothpaste for sensitive teeth often helps - DON'T rinse after brushing, Some denstists suggest rubbing toothpaste onto the surface of your teeth.
There has been a recent thread about sensitive teeth
I did have a problem a couple of years ago and my dentist gave me some special toothpaste (sorry, can't remember if it had a name)which completely solved the problem. I now use OralB sensitive which seems to work fine.
I used to have this problem then my dentist prescribed special toothpaste its called Colgate Duraphat 5000 ppm and it worked ...I don't have this problem anymore on my maintenance dose of 4 mg now my teeth are a bit sensitive but I control with just normal sensodyne toothpaste .,I had this problem especially when I was taking the Alendronic Acid and I really think it was the cause ..as now I'm below 5mg of prednisolone I don't need to take it anymore and it's gone altogether ...I hope you get sorted xx
Hello Freya , I am 81 yrs young and developed PMR some 12 years ago and have been on Prednisolone ever since, a maintenance dose of 5mg daily. Although I vist my dentist for 6 monthly check ups, over the last few months I have suffered from aching teeth when drinking hot or cold liquids, whether the Prednisolone is causing this I am unsure.
