Not exactly PMR but advice please about post menopausal dryness.
Since I was diagnosed with PMR in 2017 I have had frequent episodes of cystitis requiring antibiotic treatment. These seemed to be made worse by the Calcium and vitamin supplement I was prescribed so I stopped taking it. But I still suffer episodes of UTI/ cystitis about once a year and now my GP has

Gabapentin and Oxycodone
Hi I'm back, looking for more advice from the wise ones on HealthUnlocked. I recently came off Pramipexole and persuaded my (UK NHS) neurologist to prescribed Oxycodone/Nalazone. I take 10mgs in the morning and 20 about 7.00pm (any later and it doesn't work). This led to an improvement, but my sleep

Oral Iron supplements, doing it wrong!
Well, I got my full blood test back and after some analysis, I think I messed up. I have been supplementing daily with 36 milligrams of ferrous bisglysinate. Here are my lab results that concern me. Ferritin was 72! This is my lowest since my infusion in 2016. Eight weeks after my infusion

Supplements - Dangerous, Essential or Useless?
Wizard recently made an interesting post on the "drive to minimize supplementation" that I wanted to respond to in-depth. The post: https://healthunlocked.com/pasoc/posts/150006558/the-drive-to-reduce-minimize-supplementation I decided a long form response would be better, thus my separate post here.

Nervous about Reclast
My Endocrinologist just suggested that I have a Reclast infusion for the year. I’m 69 years old and haven’t had to take anything for my osteoporosis since I was diagnosed. He said that I was in the high moderate stages of osteoporosis and that taking a high dosage of Calcium and vitamin D would not

Advice on halting bone loss following Dexa and hrt or other supplements.
Thyroid cancer at 23, high dose T4 requiring propranolol for 17 years, then battles over dosage post menopause as rules changed. T3, when measured, always seemed to be at a good level. I didn't take HRT as it was at the height of the cancer scare. I regret it now. Sjogrens and very low vitamin D diagnosed

High urine ph from calcium supplements
Has anyone one had high urine ph from taking plant based calcium? My dr wants me to completely stop taking my calcium for 2 weeks to see if that is the reason. Im worried about not taking calcium for 2 weeks but he said nothing will happen in two weeks to my bones. But i believe it is this supplement

Calcium without sweeteners
Does anyone know of a calcium/D3 supplement without sucrose or other artificial sweeteners which a GP will prescribe? There are plenty of over-the-counter products but I haven't been able to identify one which my GP is happy to prescribe.

Medication for subclinical hypothyroidism
Hi everyone, I've posted here before regarding subclinical hypothyroidism, not sure what is causing it. I've ruled out celiac disease, I'm trying to take iron and b12 everyday, but still my tsh is consistently high. My GP has agreed to trial 25mg levothyroxine. I'm really worried after reading how

Just a little rant
One thing I have learned since being diagnosed with Osteo is that this medical condition is a money maker for big pharma. I would encourage everyone to look up publication on actual studies done around the world with men and women with osteo and what they were given naturally along with calcium supplementation

Six compression fractures in lower spine
I've had six compression fractures in the last three months, all treated with kyphoplasties. On Fosamax and calcium citrate plus vitamin D3. Dexa score is -2.9. Should I be on something stronger?

Long Term Avoidance of calcium
Hello, I am male and 62yo. I have had issues with digesting dairy products for a number of years. At my last GP blood test the calcium number was 'normal' but I understand that this only gives a number for the calcium in the blood. Other blood results are normal. I am suffering from muscle aches, tingling
